The Trouble With You

It didn’t exactly detail her wanting me to give her oral sex. It was more about how she knows there’s more than missionary position and straightforward penetration, like she almost got from some asshole named Zach back in high school. Turns out Zach finished before he did anything more than brush his dick against her.

Needless to say, she was unimpressed.

She wants to know about orgasms without cocks involved.

Can. Fucking. Do.

“Wow, this place is pretty great,” Alex says, stopping and turning a three-sixty.

The guys are all looking around similarly.

“A barn party out here will be awesome,” Teddy agrees.

“There’s not even really that much cleanup to do,” Wes says.

I look at Sutton as Beckett uncharacteristically brings up the rear. He’s got a huge push broom propped on his shoulder.

“I didn’t tell them about the dance studio idea. Just that there’s going to be a barn party. Even if you don’t want to do the dancing, we can throw a party out here. All the rest of that is up to you to tell people when and if you’re ready.”

She gives me an appreciative smile. “That’s really great of you, thank you.”

“Sutton!” Beckett crosses the room to us. “What are you doing here?”

“The same thing you’re doing here,” she tells him. “Lawson is showing me the place where we’re going to throw a big barn party.”

He grins and looks around. “This is cool. I didn’t realize Parks and Rec was doing the party.”

“Did you think it was the team?” she asks.

“No, Lawson made it sound like he was throwing the party.”

She gives me another smile. “Well, I guess Lawson and I are kind of throwing it together.”

Beckett turns to her with a frown. “Why would you be throwing a party together?”

“Well, actually Lawson’s just helping me out with the space. I’ve been teaching some dance lessons to Brewser and some of his friends, and the group has gotten too big for Brewser’s house. We needed to move it somewhere and Lawson came up with this.” She spreads her arms wide. “We’re going to turn it into a whole big party for the town.”

Beckett studies her, and I brace myself. If he laughs or blows this off or makes her feel like this is silly or inconsequential, I might have to punch him. And that would be too bad, because we've really been getting along, and it’s been nice.

“You’ve been teaching dance lessons?” he asks.

She lifts her chin. “Yeah. Privately.” She glances at me, then back to her brother. “They’re paying me. And it’s going to turn into a whole thing. A job. I’m going to open a studio and teach a lot of lessons.”

It comes out a little stilted and awkward, but I’m proud of her.

And relieved.

I really want her to do this, but she has to want it.

I’m so glad I didn’t fully overstep here.

Beckett takes that all in, studying her face. Then he grins, and I blow out a breath.

“That’s awesome,” he tells her. “You’re going to be great at that. You’ll love it.”

“She’s been amazing with Brewser and the gang,” I tell him. “They’ve been having a great time.”

Beckett nods. “I bet. Dancing can be a ton of fun. Sutton and I did a lot of it growing up when she was taking lessons. That’s why I’m so fucking good.”
