The Trouble With You

by Erin Nicholas

Even stranger, at the last minute, Sutton grabs Andi’s hand and tugs her along with them.

Of course, Brewser knows Sutton. She grew up here. He’s known her longer than he’s known me.

But what do they need to talk about?

It seemed important.

But it has to do with Sutton.

I glance at Beckett.

That means I should put it completely out of my mind.

I glance over at Brewser, talking with Sutton. She’s in jeans and a cute little pumpkin-colored sweater that hits right at the waistband of her jeans, with full, puffy sleeves and a V-neck that shows off the sweet thin-chained necklace with the angel pendant.

A fucking angel pendant on that gorgeous woman I’m supposed to stay away from.

Yeah, I’m going to need to know all about what she and Brewser are talking about.

Or at least if she’s over her head cold.

CHAPTER 3

SUTTON

“You didn’t cut tags off of the panties.”

I stare at Brewser for five seconds, letting his words sink in. Then I glance around, making sure Andi is the only one who can hear us. “Seriously?” is all I say.

“Seriously,” he confirms. “And why did you leave it on the kitchen table?”

“Where else should I have put it?”

“His bedroom.”

My eyes widen. “I can’t go up to his bedroom,” I say in a hissed whisper. “I had planned to come into your kitchen, Brewser. That’s it.”

“What kind of stalker would only stick to the kitchen?” he asks.

“The accidental kind!” I exclaim. Then immediately glance around and work on lowering my voice.

“Wait…”

We both look at Andi.

“You’re the one stalking Lawson?” she asks.

Right. She didn’t know that.

No one knows that. Except Brewser. Who roped me into it.

I sigh. “Yeah.”

“But she’s not doing a very good job at it,” Brewser says, shaking his head.

I glare at him.

Of course I’m not good at being sexy and flirtatious and cute. I have zero experience being any of those things. I wouldn’t be any of that even if it was my own idea and had time to plan it all out.
