A Threat, Not A Promise

by L.A. Wayward

“Did you have fun in there?” He continues opening and closing the lighter like some kind of threat.

“None of your fucking business.”

I hear Moon cursing through the door as something crashes against the wall and makes the door shudder on its hinges.

“Better get out of here, pretty boy, in case he wants to get his revenge.” Yuki laughs, but his eyes are cold and calculating as they run over my face.

“How did you know?”

He motions to my hand, and that’s when I spot the blood on my knuckles. He points to my stomach, and I look down and stop at the dried cum and blood on my chest. I try to close Moon’s jacket that swamps my frame, and Yuki laughs, but it sounds hollow and full of rage.

He takes a step in my direction with a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. “See you in New York, Eliot.”

I don’t say anything as I push past him and haul my ass down the stairs as fast as I can. I don’t stop when Moon bellows out my name. I can just make out I’m going to fucking kill you, in Mandarin when I push the door open and let the Tokyo rain drench me to the core as I make my way down the street, not knowing where to go. Where the hell do I go?

I hear someone shout my name and I stop. The rain is drowning out every other sound but the beating of my heart. I watch as little clouds of white drift in front of my eyes from my heavy breathing.

I slowly turn around and see the black gun with a silencer pointed right at my chest. The man aiming it at my heart is fuming—literally. Smoke seems to rise from Moon’s body as he takes a couple steps toward me. He’s wearing my shirt, and the rain pelting down makes it see-through. I gasp when he smiles at me, his teeth red with blood. He takes another step toward me, and I can’t take my eyes away from the muscles in his strong arms, defined, deadly and dangerous at the same time. I know how many men he’s killed, is it me this time? He’s the number one enforcer after Tian. Where others would sit back, he likes to get his hands dirty. Am I going to be next on his list?

“Don’t you fucking walk away from me,” he seethes, spitting out each word. “You belong to me.” He takes another step and I know he’s going to pull the trigger by the way he cocks his head and the lines around his eyes crinkle like he’s excited. I close my eyes and wait for the bullet to pierce my chest. I fly backward and the back of my head hits the pavement with a thud, moaning I stare up at the droplets moving in slow motion down the sky as they hit my face. I don’t feel anything as another shot hits my other shoulder, making it impossible to raise my hands and reach for the knives in my bag.

“I fucked up.” I lost Dash and my promise to each other; I groan and look up right into the face of the man whose nose I broke, judging by the blood still gushing out of it and the cut over the bridge, and his right eyebrow is split open. That’s going to leave a mark. I laugh and cough my lungs out.

Crouching down, his hair wet from the rain, he taps the hot barrel against my chest. “That’s what you get for walking away from me, bǎobèi,” he says, before he spits in my face.

My tongue darts out while he smirks down at me, and I can taste the blood and his spit on my tongue. I can’t move; the asshole got me good.

He runs a hand through his long wet hair and flashes me a half smile. “Close your eyes,” he says and whips me with the back of his gun. The rain intensifies and I have trouble focusing as blood fills my mouth and nose; I cough choking on the blood.

He presses his lips against my ear, and I close my eyes, focusing on his voice as I fight to keep myself from losing consciousness.

“It’s going to be fun breaking every part of you,” he promises, his deep voice echoing through my brain, drowning out the sound of the rain.

I whimper at his words, my body starting to shiver from the cold.

“You won’t be able to walk away from me when I’m done with you,” he says, as he grabs my throat. “I’ll make you open your legs willingly for me, bǎobèi. You belong to me,” he promises as he pulls the trigger and fire explodes through my ankle.

Tokyo

Moon and Eliot

I stare at his face as the soft glow from the garage lights softens his features. Cracking my neck, I stretch my arms high above my head, the gun I used on him trembling in my hand. “Come on, bǎobǎo1, shit’s about to go down,” I tell his unconscious form as I secure the gun in the back of my pants. I pull him up by his arm and drape it over my shoulder, hauling him onto my back and close the car door with my foot. Pushing my other hand under his ass I slowly start to walk up the steps to my house.

After I shot him, I threw him over my shoulder and dumped him in the car, taking me about an hour to get to my Tokyo place. It’s a secluded three-story house at the edge of the city. I bought it for my retirement, along with the place I have back in Shanghai for him and me. I even had Tian buy the place next door in Shanghai so El and Dash can visit each other whenever they want.

It has the same feel as this house, empty as hell, with overpriced art pieces hanging on the walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and the latest appliances and tech. Every time I take a step inside, I want to fucking off myself.

My baby moans but keeps his eyes closed as I haul him up the stairs and enter my dimly lit bedroom and drop him against the sheets. Looking down at the man currently spread out on my bed, his lifeless form makes the house come alive. I can feel the anticipation of finally having him rush in my blood. He’s so beautiful, with those delicate features and the longest black lashes I’ve ever seen. His bleached blond hair, the oversized shit he always wears when he’s not in a suit is so far removed from the person I should like. But fuck, having him here makes me even more possessive than I already am. I scratch the back of my head. Maybe I shouldn’t have shot him; the bruises are starting to creep up his neck and I’m still drenched from the rain like he is. My clothes are sticking to my body. I lost his hoodie somewhere on the stairs. I roll my shoulders back. My baby isn’t big, but the muscles he hides beneath his clothes more than make up for it. I’m glad I’ve been weightlifting like crazy. I need all my strength to go against his fucking fast hands when he uses a knife or unleashes his martial art skills.

He moans again, his head lulling from left to right. I grind my molars together, my jealousy flaring when I saw Yuki waiting outside as I stormed out of the room, pulling the little psycho’s shirt over my head as I pursued Eliot down the stairs. After the shots, Yuki offered to help me get him in my car. I almost cut off his hand when he reached for Eliot lying unconscious on the asphalt. Nobody touches him but me. I think I even bared my teeth at Yuki like a rabid mad wolf.

I didn’t like the way he looked at Eliot, or the way he adjusted himself. He probably didn’t notice he was doing it, but I sure as shit won’t let him get close to what’s mine again. I’m going to transfer him from New York back to Tokyo so I can keep an eye on him. No one is going to look at what’s rightfully mine. No one is touching El, except me. I’ll kill them before they even think about it. Tian and I have taken our plan to the final stage; I can’t wait any longer to make him mine. I need him to stand beside me, and that can only happen when we rule the Triad.

My dick twitches from the possessiveness I feel of having him in my bed. I push the jacket to the side and up to check the bruises I left on his shoulders and stomach. Softly running the tips of my fingers over the lesions his stomach dips. I used a new stun bullet Tian’s company has been developing. It’s in the early stages, but I can report back that it works as it should. I smile, slowly running my thumb from left to right over my bottom lip before I go for his pink nipples. I scowl; the only thing is, will Elliot be able to use his arms for what I have planned for him? He stirs again and I see his fingers twitch, and I let out a sigh of relief. He keeps his eyes shut but can’t hide the fact my name spills from those plump lips of his while I flick his left nipple.

“You’ll be fine,” I whisper, the guilt I feel slowly subsiding as I hover above him and run my lips over his. He wets them with his tongue and my cock throbs. I push off the bed and run both hands through my hair. He looks so good lying there as his chest slowly moves up and down, his long hair wet from the rain and his skin bruised. His lips are swollen from our kissing, all red and puffy. I wonder what his ass will look like when I tear his sweats from his legs.

“Fuck, bǎobèi,” I say out loud and he frowns, not opening his eyes. I liked the sound he made when I slapped his cheek. The way he pushed back at me, his voice laced with pain and desire. The way his back arched when I licked his asshole pushed me over the edge. I softly run my thumb over his bruised lips. They look chapped and dry. Fuck, maybe I should give him some water to get over the shock of me shooting him in the middle of the street.
