“Hey, I don’t need a wife in my life. I liked my life. But then your brother wanted to claim your best friend, so I couldn’t sit back watching him have all the fun.”
Yeah, I bet he liked it. Screwing everyone who crossed his path flashes through my mind. He growls out hard through his nose, his breath fanning against my lips. I gasp when he presses his bulge against my thigh.
“You can suck my dick, asshole. I don’t need a manwhore who’s fucked the whole of Shanghai, Seoul, and Tokyo combined.”
“You’ve been keeping tabs on me?” He smirks, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
I push him away from me while he chuckles. “Stay out of my fucking way, and I’ll stay out of yours.”
“Gladly,” he spits out, adjusting his collar. “This is nothing but a business transaction. We don’t even have to see each other. I can jerk off in a cup if you’re that repulsed by me. I think Moon would prefer it that way.”
“Good,” I yell in his face. “And yes, go suck a dick, asshole.”
“I’ll leave that to Eliot and Moon, so whatever. See you later, wifey,” he murmurs, his eyes flicking from my lips up to my eyes again. He says something in Cantonese I don’t catch, turning his back to me.
“You don’t have to stay at the party, one of the boats can take you back,” he tells me, opening the door, his back suddenly more straight and less playful. “And keep that fucking ring on your finger,” he orders. There are already three scarcely dressed women waiting outside for him. I flip off his back while he turns the corner as they follow him. Their skintight dresses feel like a slap in the face.
Where the hell am I going to go, knowing full well I can’t go back to New York to grab my stuff? It’s probably already in boxes and being shipped to wherever he lives. No way in hell Moon and Tian would let me and Eliot go back to New York.
I crash down in the chair at the head of the table, staring at the open door he just disappeared out of. Someone taps on the door. “Fuck off, Tian, I’m not in the mood for more,” I begin, exasperated, while I run both hands over my face.
“Already trouble in paradise?” Eliot asks, batting his pretty eyelashes at me while he rubs a hand over the back of his neck. He looks like hell; his hair is sticking out at odd ends and his lips are swollen and bruised. He flashes me an apologetic smile. “They made me swear in blood not to tell you.”
“I figured,” I say, rolling my eyes at my best friend. “What happened to you?” My eyes gliding from his swollen lips to his disheveled appearance.
He holds up his hand, grimacing. “Your brother happened, and not in the way you’re thinking. He just pissed me off,” he deadpans, handing me my dry-cleaned suit. “Sorry about throwing up all over you. I just couldn’t take your anger for being married off to Tian sober.”
Ignoring the way my heart skips a beat when he mentions Tian I say, “This is getting out of control. Did Moon take advantage of you?”
“No.” His eyes dart around the room like he’s embarrassed. “Just change your clothes,” he says, motioning to my torn pantyhose.
“Can you turn around.” I wink and blow him a kiss while I take off my dress.
He pushes his outstretched hands against his eyes. “I’ve seen you naked more times than he has.”
“Fuck you,” I joke, throwing him my torn panty he catches midair.
“I would be glad to marry you, if you had a dick.”
I flip him off and change while he takes his seat in the chair, and he grimaces while trying to sit comfortably.
“What the hell happened?” I ask, stepping into my pants.
Sighing he throws an arm over his eyes. “Nothing. Really nothing.” He turns the chair and places his hand on the headrest. “Want to get out of here and get fucking drunk again? I know another place, just guys no girls if you know what I mean. Let’s get hammered and celebrate your marriage without them, to piss those fuckers off.”
I pull my zipper up. “I’m married El,” I say, like it’s finally dawning on me I signed my name in blood.
He gives me a look while I push his face away, the gold ring glistening in the lights. “Don’t give me those puppy eyes, Eliot.”
“I’m scared, Jade,” he says, calling me by my full name, as he drags me behind him.
“We probably shouldn’t, right?” I ask, biting on the inside of my cheek while we push through the boat corridors. “Moon’s going to be so angry.”
He gives me a naughty smile over his shoulder, and we both laugh at the same time. “Fuck yeah, let’s go,” we say in unison.
“We’re going to make their lives hell,” I vow, holding out my hand for El to shake. He takes it with the same devilish smile grazing my lips, and we press our pinkies together.
“Pinky swear,” we both say simultaneously. “To hell and back.”
