CHAPTER 1
Justice
MARCH 7TH, 2026 | SIX MONTHS AFTER RELEASE
“Come on, Sweets, let that shit go for. Cum for me,” Officer Legend whispered in my ear. “I swear this is some of the best pussy ever. Fuck.” He groaned and clenched his teeth as he pounded into me from behind. His cold belt buckle struck the back of my thighs, intensifying the sensation.
“Fuck, Baby. Just like that,” he moaned as I threw my ass back into him. I matched his energy, going thrust for thrust.
When I turned to look at him, he was sweating profusely, so I knew he was about to cum, and I wasn’t ready. I wanted him to last much longer because I missed him real bad. I didn’t want this to end.
“No. Please. Don’t stop,” I begged, shamelessly.
These monthly fuck sessions had a girl geeking to see him again. To feel him again.
“Let that shit go, Justice. The bell bouta’ ring, baby. Cum for me.”
He slapped my ass hard enough to make me clench around him. I cried out his name in pure bliss.
That feeling from the last time we fucked was too real. I woke from yet another wet dream. Those dreams were going to be the death of me. It’s been eight months since I saw Chance Legend, and it’s been six months since I was released from jail.
I dragged myself out of bed and headed into the bathroom to freshen up. I brushed my teeth and washed my face, and when I was done, I stared at my reflection. I was still that bitch. Prison didn’t break me, at least not physically. I still had my permanent golden-hour skin tone, deep honey-brown eyes, and full, pink, heart-shaped lips. Yet, that was all I saw. Just a woman who looked good. I had nothing, no job, no car, no man, and barely a place of my own.
Before I was sentenced, my sister and I only had to sign our lease to move in, but I never made it home in time to sign my part. When I was locked up, Jamie told me that she moved forward and signed the lease. She told me that her mom would help with the rent if she needed it until I could help. I was feeling like a burden, like I wasn’t good for shit.
A bum, if you will… A sexy one.
At twenty-six, I couldn’t hold a job that I wanted because of my criminal record. I started working at Walmart, but only lasted around a month. I decided to quit because I knew too many shoppers who would point, laugh, and talk shit about me, and I wanted to avoid ending up back in jail fighting someone.
Ugh, I felt like a fucking loser.
I let two men who I thought loved me sell me a bag full of hope, which turned out to be bags full of shit. First my lyin’, sneaky-ass daddy, then Chance. I was really hurt about my dad, though. I was a daddy’s girl to the T, and no one could tell me shit about him.
My dad was nowhere to be found when I was released. The home I grew up in was gone. The memories of him started to slowly fade away, but I would always remember him stretched out on the sofa, knocked out. I didn’t understand what he did outside of what he told me. He worked for a construction company and had to work late nights until the early mornings. I never questioned him because he was my daddy, and he made sure I didn’t want for much. But to be gone in the wind with no contact honestly kept me up at night. Instead of dwelling on him and his disappearing act too much, I pushed the thoughts of him to the back of my mind.
I smelled coffee brewing, which instantly made me want to head to the kitchen. Just as I was on my way, I heard the front door gently open and close behind someone. When I entered, I saw my sister standing in the kitchen, absorbed in her phone.
“Morning, Sis,” Jamie said with a soft smile when she noticed I had walked into the kitchen.
“Morning,” I smirked. “Who was that sneaking out of here?”
“Don’t ask. I swear I’m about to cut his ass off, so it won’t matter soon,” she said and shrugged.
She would sometimes share little stories about him. I remember during my last year behind bars, she mentioned it wasn’t anything serious and that she planned to end things with him. But it seemed like she just couldn’t bring herself to do it. It’s probably because of the dick. Good dick was always attached to the worst kind of niggas.
For example, like Officer Legend, so I wasn’t one to judge.
I nodded my understanding.
“I’ll be out of your hair for the day.”
Jamie reached into the cabinet to hand me a coffee mug.
“Oh, yeah. So, what you got planned for today?” she asked.
I sighed lightly, poured coffee into my cup, added my favorite French vanilla creamer, and stirred until the color went from Flava Flav to Beyoncé’s complexion. I already knew she was finna talk her shit, so I decided to just rip the Band-Aid off.
“I was thinking of popping up on my good friend.” She looked at me with a confused expression. But before she could guess, I told her. “Officer—”
