He rolls his hips before deepening his thrusts, making sure to hit what’s quickly becoming my favorite angle. My fingernails dig into his back as he maintains a steady rhythm.
“Fuck, baby. You feel so fucking good,” he grunts.
“Yes. Oh my God,” I exclaim. “Right fucking there. Don’t you dare fucking stop.”
My legs lock around his waist as he fucks me harder, our desperate moans tangling together.
His hand moves underneath my ass, pulling me closer, pulling me deeper. My pussy clenches as my orgasm slowly builds.
And then I’m free-falling headfirst without a parachute.
“Fuck,” I scream as Roman’s muscles tense. He lets out a groan, spilling into me as he chases my release.
It feels so natural, this deep intimacy between us. And for the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m alone. I trust Roman—not only with my physical safety—but with my heart.
He collapses on top of me with a heavy sigh, wrapping me in a tight hold as he kisses my forehead and cheeks. “That was…” He struggles like he’s trying to hold something back. “That was incredible.” He traces a finger down the bridge of my nose and kisses me.
We lie there, catching our breath, a sticky mess of tangled limbs.
“We can keep it a secret, if that’s what you want,” Roman says.
I lift my head to look at him.
“I don’t care if it means sneaking around for the rest of my life. I’ll wear a disguise if I have to.” He rolls us onto our sides, fingertips tracing gentle strokes across my skin. “I’ll quit my job and become your security officer if that’s what it takes to be near you. Say the word, baby, and I’ll do whatever you need me to do.”
“Roman…I...”
“I’ll buy the whole fucking movie franchise if that’s what it takes.” He pulls me closer, tightening his hold around me. “But you and me—this is it. I can’t lose you.” He tips my chin up to meet his eyes. “Promise me, baby. Promise me you’ll let me help you.”
“I promise.”
I don’t know how this is going to work. But I know I’ll regret it the rest of my life if I don’t at least try.
CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE
Kira
“So what I was sensing was right?” Marge says, winking through my computer screen. “I knew I felt something deeper than you were letting on.” Her smile widens. “I may have given you different advice if I knew the man was your boss.”
“Yeah, well, I figured as much,” I say with a chuckle.
“You really are glowing.” She gestures over me with her fingers. “Dare I say you look like a woman in love?”
I roll my eyes. “Don’t get ahead of yourself, Marge. We’re taking it slow for now.” I pull my feet underneath myself and settle into my armchair. “There are still a lot of things up in the air right now. There will be a lot of eyes on me when I get back. We’ve got to go about this carefully.”
She holds a finger over her lips. “Don’t worry, dear. My lips are sealed.”
“Thanks, Marge.” I sigh. “It feels good being able to talk to someone.”
Something flashes across her face, but I can’t make it out.
“What about Greer? From what you’ve told me, you seem close.”
I release another sigh. Damn you, Marge, and your perceptiveness.
“We are.” I pause, trying to find my words. “She knows about our physical relationship, but she doesn’t think there’s any more to it.”
“And why do you suppose that is?”
