I shrug. “I don’t know. A couple of months?”
“Seven,” she says flatly. “It’s been seven months since we actually sat down and talked.”
My brows fly up to the ceiling. “You know the exact number?”
She shrugs. “I checked just now, before I came over. Seven months and ten days, to be precise.”
“…She says, sounding totally normal and sane,” I snicker.
Ari shoots me a look. “Hey, you broke into my dorm room last year because I took too long to answer a text.”
“You could’ve been dead!”
She snorts. “I was taking a shower.”
“Which is a prime murder window.”
Ari rolls her eyes, but she’s smiling.
“Anyway,” I say, because this conversation has gotten dangerously close to vulnerable, “your friend and my cousin. What the actual fuck is going on there?”
Ari’s brow lifts. “You know about Yelena and Achilles?”
I stare. “I meant Galina and Lochlan, but thank you for that.”
Her mouth snaps shut with a wince. “I plead the Fifth.”
“Come on!” I groan. “You’re sitting on all the good shit!”
Ari laughs and starts to open her mouth. Unfortunately, this is exactly when my phone decides to buzz inside my hoodie pocket.
I groan as I pull it out. “Sorry, give me one—”
My words cut off when my gaze drops to the screen.

Then, I went to his room, painted “Karma is a bitch, bitch” on his mirror in lipstick, and then scattered gay porn across his room on the off chance he still had plans to try and get Vivienne Bellandi into bed.
What? He fucked with my kill room and stole my shit. Like fuck was he not going to get an unreasonably disproportionate response.
But, I’m not gonna lie, I’d kinda hoped he'd respond by flying off the handle and acting insane, because that would be hilarious. But I still grin to myself before I get down to the important task of fucking with him.
