“You’ve been in this room when I’ve tortured men before,” I say casually as I reach for a hacksaw. “So, you can either tell me what I want to know, because you will eventually anyway, or I can get started on the part I enjoy the most. What’s it going to be?”
“B-B-Bacon is one.”
I narrow my eyes on him and feel my blood run even colder before turning to Spider, who shakes his head.
Bacon is Spider’s brother.
This piece of shit is lying.
“Who are you trying to protect?” I ask him as I set the hacksaw down and grab a hatchet.
“No one. It’s Bacon.”
I stride over and take off his ear.
“Every time you lie, you lose another piece of your head.”
Finally, the coward sighs and says, “Louie, Mac, and Stewie.”
Nodding, I glance at Spider, who’s already on his phone rounding up the other three men, and turn back to Dodge.
“Okay. Let’s get started.”
“I thought you—”
“Shut the fuck up.”

RINA
“Holy shit, she’s fast,” Rose pants. She’s out of breath and sweating like crazy from our sparring in the ring. We’re taking a break to have some water and catch our breath.
“Being fast is what saved my life,” I tell her, and she smiles at me. “But you’re fucking strong. Both of you are.”
The sisters are both so beautiful, with long red hair, and they’re much taller than me. Violet is on the more muscular side, with curves for days and strength that honestly makes me jealous. Rose is more on the slender side, but I made the mistake of underestimating her strength, and it knocked me on my ass.
I found out that these ladies have been kickboxing for more than a decade, and they’re damn good at it.
Not that I really know anything about it. It’s just been cathartic to spar with someone in the ring.
All our guards are outside the room, since they shadow us everywhere, but we’re safe in here, and we wanted privacy, so we asked them to wait for us in the hallway.
“How often do you guys do this?” I ask as I stretch out my quads.
“As often as possible,” Violet replies. “Mateo usually trains all of the girls in hand-to-hand, but Rose and I like to come down here on our own to work out, too, since my studio is just upstairs, and Carson said he didn’t have an issue with it.”
My husband wouldn’t mind at all. His number one priority is making sure I’m safe, and I know he’d extend that to his brother’s wives too.
“I’m going to lift some weights,” Violet says as she walks over to the free weights and starts with squats. “How are you feeling, Rina? Any better? You know that Charlie is going to have so much fun today.”
I sigh and redo my pony tail.
“I’m okay. It’s so silly to be sad that my kid is going to school. He loves school and couldn’t ditch me fast enough. I know he’s fine there, and probably safer than anywhere else. But I’ve enjoyed having him home, and there was a kid at the last school that gave him shit, and if that happens again, I might lose it on a six-year-old.”
“What do you mean there was a kid giving my son shit?”
I spin at the sound of Carson’s voice and see that he’s leaning on the wall of the entrance of the gym, his hands in his pockets, listening.
