“I’m leaving,” I call up, and Carson calls time-out.
“Hold on, buddy. Cease fire while I talk to your mom.”
“Does that mean I can’t shoot you?”
“Yes. Hold your fire.”
Carson smirks and comes downstairs, straight to me, and kisses me against the fridge, his hand in my hair and his cock pressed to my stomach, and wow.
“You’re good with your mouth,” I whisper.
“You would know,” he says with a grin. “Where are you off to, Sunshine?”
“I’m meeting with Dr. Asgood to talk about what she’ll need from me when I start working with her. Nothing formal today, just a conversation. I hear you four have infirmaries all over the city.”
“We each have one in our buildings, yes.”
“Also, I haven’t seen King of Spades yet,” I remind him. “And I want to. We’ve been here for more than a week now.”
“I want to play,” Charlie calls down.
“I’ll be right there,” Carson calls back as he smiles softly at me. “I want to take you too.”
“Why don’t I meet you there this afternoon after I meet with Asgood?”
“I can do that. I have a meeting with the guys in a bit, and I can text you when I’m headed that way.”
“Okay.” I push up and kiss him. “Also, I want to see Rapture.”
His eyes brighten.
“And I don’t want to know what you did there when you thought I was gone.”
I swallow thickly as his eyes narrow.
I know it’s not fair to be jealous of what he did when he wasn’t with me. He thought I was dead.
But still.
“I’ll take you there soon too.” He plants his lips against my ear. “I’m going to fuck you when we get to King of Spades.”
“I love that for me.” I grin as I push my fingers into his hair and hold on as he lowers his lips to mine again and kisses me long and deep.
“Gross,” Charlie grumbles, making us laugh.
“I’ll see you in a few hours,” I say, and then Carson takes off, shooting orange Nerf bullets at our boy.
“Ma’am,” Bacon says with a nod as he holds the door of the SUV open for me. I have four guards with me, which Carson insists is the bare minimum, and I’m not going to fight him on it. I don’t mind the guys at all.
Bacon and Ricky are with me, as usual, and there are two other guards in a vehicle behind us.
“Dr. Asgood is at a safe house we have,” Bacon tells me. “She’s looking in on some of the girls that were rescued just before Rose was.”
I scowl. “They didn’t go home to their families?”
“Some didn’t have families to go home to,” Ricky replies. “And a few were just in such rough shape, they didn’t want to go back. So the bosses put them up in a house here.”
I’m so proud of them.
