I can’t help but be turned on by her boldness. Her eyes widen in delicious joy when she feels me.

“You’re already hard for me?” she asks. “This is a surprise.”

“Good or bad?”

“Very, very welcome. But weren’t you told by the doctors to avoid strenuous activity?”

“Is that what we’re going to call this? There’s some life in me yet, Jolie. Let me experience it. Let me show you.”

Before she can question what I’m saying, I grab her and lift her entire body up onto the kitchen counter, placing her on it. She giggles. Her hands play with my hair, urging me closer.

Her scent is overpowering.

Yeah, I’m so hard for her. I can’t help it.

“My turn,” I growl.

“Strong boy. Be careful. I’m surprised now.”

“I’m full of them.”

“And what are you going to do to me?” Jolie queries teasingly.

I don’t reply. Instead, I start to unbutton her blouse and then her pants, my fingers sliding down and releasing each button one by one, and then I open up her legs. She lets out a yelp of shock and delight at my eagerness.

“I’m going to devour you.”

“Okay, but are you sure? You’ve literally just been discharged from hospital. You should be resting. We can stop, Fabien.”

“Trust me, I know my limits. You’ve sat in that hospital waiting for me, so now let me show you what you mean to me.”

At those words, Jolie sighs, helpless and wanting. It’s my cue to kiss her neck. Then her collarbone.

Then her chest.

Then her stomach.

And then her sex.

I’m not just devouring her. I’m savoring her.

“Not sleeping,” I whisper. “Not eating. You spent days in there. You really love me, don’t you?”

“I do, Fabien.”

“You could’ve left. God knows the men in your life have done enough to hurt you.”

“I could never leave you like that, Fabien. I did it once, and that was the worst thing I ever did. This time I got to choose, and I chose to stay.”

“I love you, Jolie.”

“Just... be careful.”

“Oh, I will.”

“Here, now, we don’t ever have to pretend or lie again.”

“No,” she replies. “We never have to hide.”
