The Villain’s Melody

by Lola Malone

I thrust my hips, letting my mouth accept his length before bobbing my head up and down, giving him slick friction and taking him to the back of my throat.

Rowan’s hips move more wildly by the second, and I squeeze his balls just as mine fill up. He grabs my waist, his fingers digging into my skin as he lets me plunge into his mouth and use it, opening it as wide as he probably can.

He plunges into me with raw, unpolished thrusts. Stubbornness collides with stubbornness, and we’re both panting as the smell of sex fills my nostrils like a hit of drugs.

I’m so close, and I can tell he is too by the way his hips jerk and his noises of pleasure intensify, muffled by my cock.

So I squeeze his heavy balls, making him gasp and moan so deep, I’m already there.

My grunt matches his heave as we cum in each other’s mouths almost at the same time. I thrust all the way to the back of his throat, hips locking as I fill him the fuck up with my cum while his own clumsy, desperate thrusts force me to swallow every last drop.

Fuck me, he tastes so good. Grabbing his cock with both hands, I lick around the sides and his balls, not allowing a drop to go to waste.

I’ve swallowed cum more times than I could count, but I’ve never felt this starved. Like something dangerous finally getting a taste for blood.

I want more of Rowan.

I shift back so I’m lying beside him. For a while, neither of us says anything. As I listen to the rain tapping against the windows and the storm rolling across the cliffs below us, I realize I don’t want to be anywhere else.

Eventually, Rowan shifts. “You know what I used to like most about standing guard by the Ward?”

I glance down at him. “No.”

“The rain.” Rowan settles a little closer beneath my arm, his voice softer when he continues. Thunder rolls somewhere beyond the glass. “When it got really bad, everyone else would go inside. But I used to stay under the shelter posts and listen to it. It made everything else disappear for a while.”

I look down at him then. His head is tucked beneath my chin, one hand curled loosely against my shirt, and something twists low in my chest at the sight of him settled so comfortably against my side, like he belongs there and doesn’t even realize it. “Go to sleep, little mouse.”

This time, he does.

Rain keeps hammering against the windows long after Rowan finally falls asleep beside me. The storm turns Tolian into something blurred and distant beyond the glass, all gold lights drowned beneath black cliffs and silver rain, but Rowan stays warm against my chest, one of my shirts twisted around his body while his breathing slowly evens out beneath the low pulse of the medical band around his wrist.

I lie there watching the city for a long time, one arm locked around his waist while thunder rolls somewhere far below us.

Outside, the storm keeps raging through the night. Inside, Rowan sleeps with his head tucked beneath my chin, not running from the sound of it anymore.

Yeah, I’ve decided I want all of him.

ROWAN

Iwake slowly, warm before I’m awake enough to understand why.

For one disoriented second, I think I’m back in Düren, waking in the tiny bedroom I used to share with Sola before everything fell apart. I expect to hear her moving around beside me, hear music playing softly somewhere in the apartment, smell coffee drifting through the kitchen.

Instead there’s only the feeling of heavy blankets tangled around my legs, cold air brushing my face, and a warm arm wrapped tightly around my waist.

Okay, definitely not home.

Someone’s breathing ghosts softly against the back of my neck, slow and deep enough that my entire body relaxes toward it before my brain finally catches up.

The memory slams back into place. Moonlight spills pale and silver through the half-open curtains as I suck in a sharp breath through my nose, catching the scent of another person surrounding me.

I’m not alone.

Somewhere far below the tower, a distant howl echoes through the sleeping city before disappearing again into the dark.

Careful not to disturb the arm, I turn my head over my shoulder.
