Tempest blinks slowly like she’s trying to decide if I’m serious or joking.
It was a joke. Sex with Tempest? I wasn’t really offering. I was only calling her bluff. I’m not attracted to her. Right? Of course I’m not. Even though she looks beautiful and sexy as hell in her hot mess way.
I want to slap myself upside the head. Did I just link sexy and Tempest in the same thought?
“That is the most laughable thing I think I’ve ever heard you say.”
And she does just that. Laughs like I’m doing standup comedy. Then she eyes me like my IQ took a leave of absence.
“I wouldn’t be able to stay away?” She pinches two fingers together. “If I mounted your little saddle horn you wouldn’t be able to stay away from me.”
An image of her riding me in the saddle pops into my head and my dick is going hell yeah and…little saddle horn?
“I’ve never heard any complaints,” I defend my dick’s honor.
“Only because your hand can’t talk,” she says, miming a hand job but the circle is insultingly small.
I stare at her.
She stares at me.
I clench my teeth. She’s driven me nuts from the day we first met when our bicycles collided. “For the record,” I say, “My dick is plenty big enough. Huge as a matter of fact.”
She clicks her tongue. “Rounding up is something found in a math problem, not in your jeans.”
I narrow my eyes and ask, “Would you like me to show you?”
“Sure.”
“Here?”
She gestures toward the front of my jeans. “It’s just the two of us. Go ahead.”
I know better than to whip it out in the moment not only because that would be pervy but also because I can’t stop thinking about how damn good she looks. How good she’s always looked.
And if I brought my little saddle horn…fuck...huge dick out and it launched a happy-to-see her boner I’d fucking die of embarrassment.
Behind us, the front door opens and Logan walks in. He’s one of my closest friends.
He looks at her, then me and jokes, “Sorry, did I interrupt a love confession?”
“Maverick asked if I wanted to see his dick. He was about to show me when you walked in.”
Logan hastily retreats a couple of steps. “I’m out of here.”
Tempest laughs. “Stay. I’m leaving.”
“I have no desire to see it,” Logan says shooting me a what the hell’s going on look.
“Wasn’t gonna happen. She’s not that lucky,” I say.
“I knew you couldn’t back up what you said.” Tempest has that I win expression that makes my teeth clench.
I watch her walk to the door and when she reaches it, she pinches her fingers together like she’s measuring and smirks before leaving.
I cuss under my breath.
Logan whistles. “I could feel the heat between the two of you from the sidewalk. Are you interested in her or something?”
