“Nah, she ain’t call nobody. I still ain’t gave her ass her phone back.”

“Damn, I bet she still pissed about that.”

“Man, you already know. But that ain’t even the half of it. She called herself trying to sneak out last night.”

Kendric sat up. “You lying, bruh?”

“Nope. And while she was walking down the street, some black SUV started following her ass.”

“Hold on. What?”

“Yeah. I pulled up before whoever was in that bitch could try anything.”

“Damn. You think that was David?”

“That’s who I’m looking at, but I ain’t got nothing confirming it yet. I got somebody checking into his ass now, and apparently, he’s been asking questions about shorty.”

Kendric shook his head. “So this nigga out here doing the most.”

“Exactly. And until I know what the fuck he’s planning, I ain’t taking no chances with her. That’s why I might need you to help me get somebody assigned to her.”

“Bet. I gotchu. She finally agreed to that shit?”

“Not yet. Her stubborn ass said she gotta think about it.”

Kendric laughed. “Man, that girl be giving yo’ ass hell.”

“You don’t know the half of it.” I shook my head. “But I ain’t worried about that. I just need somebody in case she agrees.”

“Aight. I’ll see who we got available.”

We went over a few names before wrapping everything up. I still had some shit to handle around the office, including checking on the men on the training floor.

Once Kendric headed back to his office, I grabbed what I needed from my desk and made my way downstairs. I wanted to see how training was coming along before heading out to make my rounds and check on a few clients.

Iwas still trying to decide whether I wanted to accept his offer and let him have somebody following me around. Part of me understood why he wanted to do it, especially after what happened last night, but the other part of me wasn’t feeling that shit at all. I was ready to get the hell out of this house, and the last thing I wanted was somebody reporting my every move back to him.

I couldn’t even call my sister to get her opinion because his ass still had my phone.

I let out a deep breath and rolled my eyes. I had so much shit running through my head that I didn’t know what to think anymore. And to make matters worse, I couldn’t stop thinking about that damn room he’d locked me in last night.

I didn’t know what kind of freaky shit this man was into, but whatever it was, his ass wasn’t playing. I’d noticed a few things in there that had me looking around twice, trying to figure out what the hell he had going on.

The first thing that caught my attention was a black leather padded bench. Then there were the leather cuffs and metal rings neatly arranged along the wall. And if that wasn’t enough, there was a cabinet filled with all kinds of accessories. I’m talking leather straps, blindfolds, and some other shit I didn’t even want to know what he used it for.

But after watching the movie and reading the book Fifty Shades of Grey, I had a pretty good idea what the fuck I was looking at.

I grabbed the remote from the nightstand beside the bed and turned on the TV. Since I had to sit here and wait for Cassian to get back home, I figured I might as well find something to watch to pass the time.

When I opened my eyes, I looked around the room, trying to figure out when the hell I’d fallen asleep. The last thing I remembered was watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta. I didn’t even know why I’d settled on that show of all things, but it was the only thing I could find that caught my attention.

I stretched before climbing out of bed and heading into the bathroom to take a shower. Once I finished and got dressed, I decided to head downstairs to see what I could find to cook.

Cassian had been doing all the cooking since I’d been here, so I figured I’d switch things up and make dinner for a change. That didn’t mean I’d forgiven his ass or changed my mind about everything going on. I was starting to realize I might be here a little longer than I wanted, and I wasn’t about to sit around starving or waiting for him to feed me.

After looking through the refrigerator and cabinets, I decided to make smothered lamb chops, yellow rice, and cabbage, cleaning up behind myself as I went. I had no idea what time Cassian planned on coming home, but whenever he did, at least there would be something for him to eat.
