I was about to answer her question and tell her what we wanted, but I looked over at Pops, and he shook his head slowly like he didn't want me to say anything.

"Don't worry about it. I'll be up to the club in about fifteen minutes, alright?"

"Okay, well hurry up because I got this stripper on the North Side who wants to buy all of these old suits from me for what she thinks is half the price, but it's really what I paid for them."

"You're selling old funky ass suits for full price?”

She laughed because she thought that shit was funny.

“Yep.”

"Nasty ass, but I'll be there in a minute."

“Okay, I'm here.” I hung up and took off from her spot.

I drove over to Club Onyx, where I first found her back when she was only trying to make money to eat.

When I arrived outside, I texted her to jump in the truck, and shortly after, she was coming out of the door, laughing with a few other strippers from the club. She twisted her thick ass up to the driver’s door and stood on the side railing to see inside the cab.

"Oh, what are you doing in here, Victor?"

"Don't worry about him. Just go around and climb your ass into the middle."

"Alright." She walked around the truck slower than she had walked up to my door.

Once Diamond climbed over Pops, I took off.

"Where are we going? Pops, you said you were done with me the other day."

He was quiet for a minute before he grabbed her by her arm and held the back of her neck with the other arm.

“Bitch, tell me where my Rolex is?"

"Rolex? I don't have your Rolex!"

"Stop playing with me. Where is my watch? When you came up to the funeral home yesterday, my watch was in the drawer. Now it's gone, and you're the only person who's been there."

"I didn't take your watch, so please get your hands off of me! It’s probably still in the drawer where you keep all your shit that I’ve never touched before," she replied.

"Go to Essex Funeral Home, Duke. She said it’s still there, so I want her to go find it."

“Victor, you are ignorant.”

“And you are a two dollar whore.”

“Well, you pay for it.”

“Because you are cheap!” Pops barked back at her.

I shook my head, laughing to myself. Pops and his bitch wasn’t about to stress me out all day. I would have preferred another bowl of cereal and the rest of the soap opera I was tuned into. At least this shit was just as entertaining.

From the club, we drove over to Essex Funeral Home. When we arrived, Diamond got out of the car on my side after me with her arms folded across her chest. "

“I'm missing out on so much money from that sale. You niggas owe me for that," she complained as I walked around to help Pops out of the truck.

I carried him inside, finding one of the wheelchairs he used sitting right by the front door. Nobody else was here right now, at least nobody living.

We went back to his office, and wheeled Pops to his desk and he opened all the drawers, coughing into a napkin every now and again.
