Harlow.
The red-haired wannabe-director stormed across campus, her finger raised in anger. But it was already too late.
The crowd parted for the baseball team, and the muscular boys marched toward the middle car. Amid thunderous cheers, the team captain raised his baseball bat, and the crowd began to escalate, completely drowning out Harlow's next scream.
With one swing, he hit the side mirror of the convertible, and the entire mirror housing detached from the car and flew across the campus, where it disappeared with a clatter into the treetops of an oak tree.
“Bull's-eye!” Mop-Top laughed into the megaphone.
“What in God's name!” rang out a now distinct scream. Harlow.
She reached the crowd, and the students automatically jumped aside.
“Get away from my car, you crazy animals!”
Mop-Top and Jack jumped from her car, and the crowd backed away further, but now more people were holding up their phone cameras.
I could already see the headlines in my mind’s eye.
Harlow stood frozen in front of her car.
Someone turned down the music.
I would have loved to see the look on her face, but unfortunately, she had her back to us.
The crowd flinched when she suddenly started screaming.
“There will be consequences!”
With these words, she turned around and stormed back toward the west wing, where her Rapunzel tower was located.
“Director Harlow!” Jenny Bexley immediately rushed after her, pushing some students aside. “Director Harlow!”
She caught up with the furious woman and waved the camera crew closer before talking to the co-director and holding out the microphone with the initials of the Blairville Daily.
Harlow tried to escape with her hand in front of her face, but the reporter team stuck to her.
Bayla and I grinned at each other.
My gaze wandered upward to the huge main tower of Vanderwood.
There, behind the huge window, dressed in a dark tailored three-piece suit, stood the director, a glass of whiskey in his hand. Triumph was written all over his face.

If there was one thing The Eye wasn't, it was a law student.
What was he thinking? That people like me had time for such games when the professors continued to follow the strict course syllabus?
Whoever was behind this childish prank hadn't counted on Harlow not being the only person he was harming.
But what did it matter? I would manage. As always.
