Mikhail kept his cold stare on me.
Looks like someone was asking to get his fucking teeth kicked in.
“Come on, let’s go to economics,” Emely said, and Mikhail looked at her, indecisive, as if he were contemplating it. She, on the other hand, glared at me with displeasure. “We’ll talk later.”
Indeed, that prick let Emely lead him away. His hand strayed to hers, and she took it with an uncertain sideways glance.
Everyone present was lucky that Emely had been there. Otherwise, I would most likely have lost control.
Why exactly did she take him to the economics lecture? Hadn't he finished his studies? Was he bored when he wasn't closing some shady deals for Daddy in Vancouver?
Someone gave me a hard pat on the shoulder, which was very stupid considering I was carrying the anger of ten bulls inside me.
“Nobody likes that guy,” Nash growled, coming to my side.
The tension in his body was impossible to miss.
It was new to me that he acted so rough and bossy on campus. At the Copelands', he was quiet, calm, watchful, and didn't appreciate physical contact. Something was different here.
I relaxed a little. Or at least tried to.
“I hope you don't let him get away with it,” was all I could say before turning away from the displeasing image of the two of them in annoyance.
Nash looked at me with a tortured expression, and I felt what he probably felt as a brother at that moment.
“I had planned to have Julian play against him, but he’s unreachable,” he sighed and pointed behind him, where the other guys were approaching us. “Hunter is my last chance.”
I pulled both brows together.
“I’ll do it.”
Nash raised his eyebrows, but he couldn't say anything in response, for which I was grateful, because he would need time to think about this offer.
His guys interrupted us.
“Hey, man,” Cody laughed, way too hyperactive as usual. “What was that all about?”
“Did you seriously want to start trouble with the Russian Alpha son?” Noah asked, also with a broad grin on his face. “He’s too big for you, I’d say.”
“Noah,” I murmured darkly. “I’m on edge.” I flexed my fingers, completely unclenching my fists. “And I’d hate to have to smash your face in.”
“He already looks like he’s been dragged through a garbage can,” Cody laughed, running his fingers through his black-brown Esadowa hair.
“Shut up, Cody.”
Noah pushed him away, and Cody crashed laughing into Hunter, who seemed a little overwhelmed and pushed Cody away.
Cody ran his fingers through his hair again.
Was he fucking blushing?
“Like babies, I swear,” murmured Harry Jones, probably the most sensible of the pack.
“How about it, Wheeler?” Noah ignored Harry's insult and threw me a dark green Vanderwood hoodie. The forbidden one from Vanderwood Athletics. “Are you on the football team?”
I looked at the hoodie, which screamed rebellion.
As much as I despised merch for being childish, I liked that the athletes weren't letting the new rules get them down.
