"Yes."
Alex threw both hands into the air. "Jade!"
I frowned. "Why are you shouting?"
"Because my shoulder has been annoying me for three years."
"That sounds inconvenient."
"It is inconvenient."
"Then why didn't you ask?"
His hands dropped.
The room went quiet.
Alex looked baffled. "I didn't know I could."
"That sounds like your problem."
Nykos laughed from near the table.
Alex turned on him. "Don't encourage her."
"You walked into that one yourself."
"I've been suffering."
"You've been clicking your shoulder because you think the noise irritates me."
"It does irritate you."
"Yes."
"That doesn't mean I enjoy doing it."
I looked between them. "Do you want me to heal it or not?"
Alex turned back so quickly his pale hair swung over one shoulder. "Yes. All of it. Whatever you found. Fix everything."
I stared at him.
"What?"
"You need to ask properly."
He looked toward Corian as if expecting assistance.
Corian folded the deployment paper and put it away. "Don't look at me."
Alex sighed dramatically before facing me again. "Jade, would you please heal the old injuries you've found?"
"Yes."
"See, this is bureaucracy."
"This is consent."
