Their Rejected Queen

His gaze, which is now almost entirely gold, snaps up to mine. “No,” he says, surprising me. “I just don’t like Arwan very much when he’s playing his stupid games.”

“Then you’ll enjoy watching Ze’ev punish him,” I decide aloud.

Whatever issues these three have with each other, I have a feeling I’m about to be trapped in the middle.

I’m just not sure what that entails, given that I have mate bonds established to all three of them.

A triad, as Arwan had called it.

Does that mean I’ll eventually sleep with all of them?

At… the same time?

Godric’s nostrils flare as if he can pick up my arousal—which I’m certain he can—before he turns on the large bath.

I flinch as I watch the water pool inside the tub. An image flashes behind my eyes of a memory that I used to be good at suppressing, but now it’s like my brother has his hands all over me again.

Godric immediately turns off the water and shushes me. “It’s okay. We’ll take a shower.”

We?

I don’t voice my question as he leads me down the hall to another set of stalls. The entire place is beautiful and encased in marble. It’s nothing like the natural springs most of the clan uses to bathe.

This is luxurious, modern, and private.

Steam fills the air as Godric readies one of the showers that has a bench, then he guides me in and sits me down as hot water pelts my body. He leaves on his pants and follows me, then takes a bar of soap and begins lathering it all over me.

He carefully cleans my shoulders, my arms, then he attentively washes my breasts, my stomach, and I grab his wrist when he goes past my belly button.

“I have to clean you,” Godric says as he locks his golden gaze on mine. “You might have rejected me, but my wolf knows you’re conflicted, so I’m afraid it’s not working on him.”

Shit.

“I’m not conflicted,” I weakly protest. “I don’t want to remain on this isle, and you are a pack master. We can’t properly stay together when this is all over,” I say as I curl my fingers around my elbows.

Godric takes a wet cloth and begins rinsing away the soap, starting with my shoulders. “Wolves don’t think about the future. Too many things can change destiny’s path. He lives in the here and now, and right now, you smell like you want my knot.”

My body tenses in the best way when I envision him nearly using his knot on me in the springs.

“I guess it’s a human thing,” I say with a shrug. “I know it won’t work out. I’m just being practical. I’m not subject to primal instincts running my life.”

I think.

Godric gives me a terrifying grin as if I just presented a fabulous challenge. “Then tell me when to stop, little moon. I’ll see how much you really mean your rejection.”

Heat blooms between my legs as he traces every spot he had washed with his tongue, then he pauses when he reaches the same spot below my belly button.

“How do you feel?” he asks. “You still want to reject me?”

My breath is coming in short pants now.

“Can’t be together,” I say as heat curls over my shoulders.

My body betrays me as a shudder works through me.

“But what do you want?” he insists.

His lips press on my mound, making my insides turn molten.
