Joyride

My body tightened, the tension taking me higher and higher. I was at the top of the roller coaster, poised for the wild ride down, balanced precariously, waiting, waiting, and then—

My climax slammed into me, a white-hot explosion of release.

I cried out as loudly as any thrill-seeker at an amusement park. Except I was flying off the track, breaking into a hundred pieces, and fluttering to the ground like dust.

Tears snuck out of my eyes again. Damn it.

Kit grunted behind me, jerking his cock with lewd thwack, thwack, thwack sounds, and then growling deep and sexy as his cum hit my ass like warm droplets of a summer rain.

He collapsed on top of me, flattening me in the wet mess I’d made on the sheets. Fuck it, I’d take another shower later. Didn’t matter.

“This was not the plan when I came over here,” he mumbled into my ear.

“Was it really not?”

He chuckled breathlessly. “Well, maybe the thought crossed my mind. But I told myself I’d resist you.”

I bit my lip, heart aching. “Are you sorry you didn’t?”

He slid off me and tugged my shoulder so I’d turn toward him. He considered my face with a frown. “I can’t say I have no regrets, Joey. I told you, I don’t know if I can ever—”

I put my fingers over his lips. I didn’t want to hear it again.

“I know. You don’t have to explain.”

He pulled my hand down. “But I’m also not sorry. I want you too much. Fuck, these past few weeks have been awful.”

“Yeah,” I agreed.

He brushed his thumb under my eye. “Do you always cry during sex, or did I do that to you? I don’t remember any tears in Omaha.”

“This was just more intense, that’s all. I’m not sad.”

“Good.” He dropped his hand. “Because that would make me feel worse about this. I don’t want to hurt you, Joey, even if…”

He trailed off, but I knew well enough what words he didn’t say.

“Don’t worry. I’m fine. Better than fine. I just had the best orgasm of my life.”

He smirked. “That good, huh?”

“Oh yeah. I think it’s been building for weeks.”

“Fuck. Same.” He rolled out of the bed. “I should get back to the house.”

I levered up on my elbows, unsure how to say goodbye. Would he come back for more or go back to icing me out?

My conscience prickled at me. “What would Dakota say if she knew?”

He pulled his T-shirt over his head, hiding that broad chest covered in dark red curls. “I don’t think I want to know what she’d have to say. Something embarrassing, for sure,” he said. “But I do know she’d be okay with it.”

I sat up in the bed. “Really?”

“Yeah. She basically told me as much. I guess we weren’t…subtle.”

“Oh.” I swallowed.

“She really is working on forgiving you,” Kit said. “Dakota has a bigger heart than anyone I know.”
