She shakes her head. “No.”
“Bob Marley?”
“No.”
“Paul Walker? I was in shambles when he died.”
She sighs. “No.”
“Elvis Presley?”
“No—wait, why Elvis?”
I chuckle. “I have some questions about how he died.”
“I mean…I can’t confirm nor deny whether he is even in Heaven,” Yirah admits. “It’s confidential.”
I lean forward with wide eyes. “That answer within itself is an admission.”
Yirah feverishly shakes her head. “No. It is not.”
I nod with excitement at my newfound knowledge. “It totally is.”
She points a finger at me. “You better not tell anyone about this.”
I gesture to my heart and make an imaginary ‘X’ over it. “I cross my heart and hope to die.”
“You realize that doesn’t mean much, right? Considering you’re dead.”
“Then, I swear on my father’s life.”
“You don’t know your father,” she states as a matter of fact.
Dumbfounded at her knowledge of my life, I squint my eyes, and point an accusing finger at her. “How do you know that?”
“Joyce, I work at the Soul Directory department. I know almost everything about you.”
That definitely slipped my mind. I snap my fingers and nod my head in agreement. “You’re absolutely right.”
Yirah frowns. “Aiden is doomed.”

TRUST ME, I’M A LAWYER
Aiden walks into the office and straight to his desk. Yirah dropped me off two hours ago and went back to her department. I was about to go through some more documents to prepare before Aiden’s arraignment, but it was just to give myself busy work. I’m already as prepared as I can be. I decide to kill time by having a conversation with Aiden.
“Did you know Elvis is in Hell?” I excitedly inform him.
Aiden looks at me with a blank stare. “I did not ask.”
“Now you know.”
He raises an eyebrow. “I won’t say thank you.”
I cross my arms and let out a huff. “I don’t know anyone here and I like to talk. I would appreciate it if you could try to hold a decent conversation.”
He holds my stare. “I don’t want to have a conversation. I’m busy working, which is what you should be doing. My arraignment is in an hour.”
