I got up and stretched before we packed everything and headed toward the car.

Azaria stopped before getting into the passenger seat.

“Is there a bathroom somewhere on this trip?”

“There’s a hotel coming up.”

“Good. I want to freshen up before we keep driving.”

About twenty minutes later, I pulled into a luxury hotel off the highway. Everything had already been arranged before we arrived, so Azaria grabbed her bag and went inside with one of my guards while Tommy and I stayed in the hallway.

“All clear?” I asked.

“Been quiet all day.”

I took out my phone and called Zay.

He answered on the second ring.

“You good?”

“Yeah.”

“How’s the drive?”

“Smooth.”

“You keeping your eyes open?”

“Always.”

He laughed. “Good. I’ll hold shit down here. Emily don’t want to leave, so we’ll still be here when y’all get back.”

“That’s cool. Let her stay with Ri-Ri for a while. She needs people around her.”

“I already planned on it.”

We talked for another minute before I hung up.

About thirty minutes later, Azaria came out looking refreshed and ready to get back on the road.

We returned to my car, and I started the engine.

“One more stop before Paris.”

“What kind of stop?”

“You’ll see.”

She looked at me as if she wanted more information, but I pulled back onto the road before she could start asking a hundred questions.

Whatever was waiting for me with Laurent could wait a few more hours.

For now, I had Azaria beside me, an open road ahead of us, and one more place I wanted to take her before we reached Paris.
