“Aimee! Aimee!”

She turned with a smile as Keira ran into the small music room. This place wasn’t just a bunker, it was close to being a whole darn village. There were no shops or anything, of course.

But there were a large number of bedrooms and bathrooms. There were rooms where they could all get together and rooms they could have to themselves if they wanted to.

When they’d arrived, Zander had surprised her with this room. Apparently, Ammo had told him that she was a musician, although he hadn’t told him that the only instrument she played was the flute. Because the music room also contained a piano, a drum kit, and a guitar. None of which she could play, though she had decided to take up the piano.

She was teaching herself with some online help.

Honey had decided she was going to learn the drums. Which was actually a bit of a disaster because she was currently grouchy most of the time and liked to take her temper out on the poor drum kit.

Keira was learning guitar. The aim was to become a girl band and take the world by storm. Well, that was Honey’s idea, anyway. She and Keira were along for the ride.

“Hey, what’s going on?” Aimee asked.

“Have you finished your practice?” Keira asked.

“Yep. I have. Why?”

“Because we’re going outside. Honey needs to use up some angry energy.”

“Uh-oh, the patient isn’t in a good mood today, huh?” Aimee asked as she put her flute away.

“The patient is a giant dick,” Honey complained as she walked into the room behind Keira.

That sounded about right.

After being shot, Webb was flown to the hospital in Little Rock for treatment. He’d lost a lot of blood and the bullet had still been lodged in his chest.

He’d been operated on immediately and it had been touch and go whether he would make it.

Zander, Keira, Honey, and Miles had flown to Little Rock immediately on a private jet belonging to Zander’s boss. He owned a security company called JSI.

Thankfully, Webb had pulled through. He’d left the hospital and come home four days ago. He was meant to take it easy. To stay in bed and rest. Something he wasn’t very good at. He also wasn’t good at letting people take care of him.

Honey had appointed herself his personal nurse. She’d even bought herself an outfit and everything. Only Webb didn’t seem that fond of her nursing skills.

The guy was a terrible patient.

“Just let me go get changed out of this outfit,” Honey said. “White clothes and mud don’t mix.” Turning, she bounced off.

“Oh, when Webb is feeling better he better be prepared to grovel,” Keira said to her.

Aimee nodded.

“Do you need to get changed?” Keira asked.

“I don’t really have any old clothes to wear.” Everything she had, which wasn’t much, was brand-new because of the fire. Her insurance money hadn’t come through yet and once the bank was paid, anything left would go to Ammo. Well, unless Kelly-Anne got her hands on some of it.

Aimee had been here a week now. Eli and Honey had remained with Webb in the hospital while Ammo had brought her home to get settled once they’d realized that Webb would pull through.

It was strange, but it kind of felt like she’d lived here forever.

“You could put on something of Ammo’s,” Keira told her, following her into the rooms where she lived with Ammo.

He was currently on a job with Zander. They wouldn’t be home until tomorrow. Zander was trying to take fewer jobs now that Keira was six months pregnant. But with Webb out that was a bit hard for him to do.

They had a living room with a small nook off it that they’d turned into her play room. There was a bathroom, a kitchenette and a big bedroom.
