Brinley
Oh, he knew exactly what to do with me
Me
I don’t even want to imagine what’s gone down in that office. *bring bleach – for the desk and my eyes*
Brinley
Bleach might be necessary.
Me
Gross. Why did my best friend have to go and marry my brother? A bestie needs details, but I don’t want those.
Of course, I wore a ridiculous grin when I sent it.
I wasn’t really disgusted.
They were perfect for each other, and I knew the second I saw her that she was meant for him. Could feel that only she could finally pull him out of the vat of self-loathing and guilt and show him that he deserved so much more. It was the same as he’d brought parts of Brinley to life that had been missing.

Heart pressing at my chest, I let my fingers fly across the screen.
Me
But the only thing that I really need to know is that he makes you happy.
Brinley
I don’t think I really knew what happiness meant until I came here.
Me
That’s all that matters.
Brinley
Because you love me.
Me
Obvi. I loved you the second I saw you.
She’d told me once ‘Your heart will know’.
When it came to her, mine immediately had.
Brinley
How was your first night of freedom?
Me
Amazing and surreal. I still can’t believe I have my own place.
