My fingers sank into his shoulders, and my head rocked back, inviting him to explore. Trevan’s big, roughened hands moved to my breasts. Cupping over the black satin of my bra before he reached behind me and unhooked the clasp.
He edged back for a moment to drag the straps down my arms.
His gaze raked over me. A lash of fire. A stoking of flames. My belly trembled as I stood there in only my underwear.
Him in his boots and jeans.
So ruggedly beautiful.
“Gorgeous,” he murmured as if he were thinking the exact same thing about me. I was thrilled with the truth that I wasn’t alone in this.
A hand slipped over the side of my neck and to the back of my head, and he dove back in.
Kissing me senseless. Tongue and lips and teeth. Their sharp edges scraped my jaw, my chin, before he was twirling his tongue against mine again.
He kissed me until I could barely stand and my body hummed with need, just as he was inching me toward my bed.
The backs of my thighs hit the edge of the mattress, and I sank down onto it.
Pliant and weak yet feeling the strongest that I’d ever felt.
Brave and proud and sure.
Trevan towered over me.
A fortress. A mountain. My reprieve.
His hands on my face, his thumbs running circuits over my jaw and cheeks.
Greed seared through him, and his big body quaked. Lust a billow that saturated the air.
“I’ve never wanted anything the way I want this,” I whispered the admission.
Trevan heaved a sigh, and he let his hands glide down both sides of my neck.
Chills lifted in their wake.
“Can’t be half as much as I’ve been dying for you. Loving you and thinking I’d never get the chance to show it.”
“Don’t hide it,” I rasped.
His head barely shook, but I could still feel the tension tightening his neck.
His deep-seated belief that loving me was wrong.
But he didn’t stop the way I feared that he would.
He kept running his palms all the way down to the outside of my breasts, cupping them, and he swirled his thumbs over my nipples.
Sensation rushed, a lightning strike that ignited between my thighs.
I arched into his touch, and my breaths flung from me in short, jagged pants.
“Trevan.” His name rippled as a petition.
He stared down at me. Eyes molten. His tongue stroking over his full red lips. “Got the prettiest tits, baby. Prettiest face. Prettiest soul. How’s it I’m lucky enough that you want me, too?”
“It’s not luck when it was meant to be.”
