Cordie, it’s INCREDIBLE. You MUST post it. Put the ones from the session up too. And the Seal Colony. You’ve taken so many fantastic pictures.

Cordelia sighed. Ok.

Can I pls get one of Niall’s actual face now? Liz added the pleading eyes emoji.

Fine, hold on.

She searched her photos and found one that took her breath away. Niall, standing over the potatoes in his kitchen. His eyes were bright and teasing, the dimple barely making an appearance. His hair flopped down over his forehead.

She didn’t let herself think too hard. She sent it off to Liz then turned her phone upside down, her heart racing. After only a few seconds, her phone began to ping wildly.

“Jesus, Liz,” Cordelia muttered. There was a long series of texts.

STOP IT

He’s gorgeous!!!!!

I mean, I’m gayer than gay but that man is DIVINE. Can he have a twin sister who is also a lesbian so you can introduce me???

Cordelia let out a breathy chuckle. Sadly, he is an only child.

Just my luck.

You’ve got Meena anyway, Cordelia reminded her. She expected some snappy reply and was surprised when Liz didn’t text back right away.

Liz? No response. Ok, now I’m freaking out.

Don’t freak out. I didn’t want to interrupt your trip.

What’s going on??

Meena and I broke up. But it’s FINE.

Cordelia gripped the phone hard. WHAT? When? Why?

She could practically hear Liz’s sigh through the tiny letters on her screen.

We broke up the first week you were there. I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want you to worry. Because IT IS FINE. We both weren’t feeling it anymore. We were more friends than lovers for a while. We’re still friends. We’re actually having dinner on Thursday. She’s sleeping with some finance dude that her father approves of I guess.

Meena was bisexual but Cordelia had sort of forgotten that since she’d been dating Liz for so long.

Are you sure you’re okay????

I. AM. FINE. It’s actually been nice to be single. I like having some me time.

Cordelia bit her lip. She felt terrible that Liz hadn’t told her all this right away.

Omg, I can feel you stressing through the phone. Stop that. I’m really okay.
