I glance down at his crotch, and as expected, he’s getting hard. I seem to be able to do this to him at any time of the day. Perhaps I have cursed him.
“I only offer memberships to men who really work for it.”
He runs a hand over his stubble. “Men? You mean one man.”
I smile, tipping my head back as his hands settle on my waist. “So… does that mean we’re an exclusive couple then, cowboy? You do realize that also means no other pussy for you? Are you sure you can deal with that?”
He clears his throat. “Shouldn’t be an issue.”
His lips brush over mine, and I thread my fingers into his hair.
“Shouldn’t or isn’t?” I question. I’m not sure what unhealed part of me is controlling my brain, but I have to know the answer.
“Isn’t,” he confirms.
My stomach does a flip, and it shouldn’t. It really shouldn’t. Because this wasn’t what our marriage was for. This isn’t what I was meant to do. And how the hell would this work if we’re ruling empires in completely different states?
He’s not going to want to move to LA.
“I’m joking, Colten,” I blurt out.
He shakes his head. “You’re driving me insane, Gianna. In-fucking-sane.”
He kisses me again.
“That’s part of the problem, cowboy.”
“Nope. I never said I didn’t like you driving me crazy. It’s actually part of the appeal.”
I roll my eyes as he pulls back. In return, he squeezes my throat tighter, making me yelp.
“We’ve got work to do, right?” he asks.
I groan. “I wanna go back on vacation. Work, work, work. Greece was fun.”
“We can go back. Our new rule can be: every time we get work done, we book a vacation as a reward,” he says with a smile.
And that sounds like heaven. Another step towards the version of myself I want to be.
I gave him the lowdown on the Twisted Serpents on the flight back home this morning. Well, as much information as I could without dropping my father into shit. I’m ingrained to protect him, but my want to do that is slipping every day. I don’t agree with my father's actions.
And now, Colt knows they’re in Arizona, and he is neither happy nor prepared to negotiate any of the shipment routes with them.
Dom thinks Colten coming with us is a good idea; it sends a message back to my father that I’ve got Colten on our side.
But something in my gut is telling me I don’t want that to go back to my father. Telling Colt the truth and asking for his involvement actually wasn’t to please my father. It’s because I wanted his help. Because, actually, I think he has my back. And we both want the same goal here: Levi the fuck out of here.
I don’t trust him. I know at the first opportunity, he will fuck us over. I’d rather he was gone; the only reason Dom and I haven’t killed him yet is because of my father. That’s his guy. If Levi died, it screws up my father’s drug operations, and honestly, that money is what is keeping the Milano name afloat.
“Yes. Please don’t distract me while I’m working, Colt. Men already have trouble taking me seriously because I’m a woman. The last thing I need is him thinking I need you to protect me,” I tell him, giving him another piece of myself.
His jaw twitches. “I thought I was the one easy to distract?”
“You are,” I purr, my hand sliding down his chest and landing on his dick.
