“Uh…we have plans and I thought you saw your brothers last night?”
“No, I was out with my friends last night. We spent all day together. Besides, I’ve barely spent any time with my brothers since you and I got together. I’m always with you. Don’t be so selfish.”
I take a step back, looking at him in shock.
“Are you serious? You’re going to ditch me?”
“It’s not like that. I haven’t seen my brothers in a really long time. Please don’t start with the drama tonight.”
“I just spent the last hour getting ready.”
He rolls his eyes and sighs. “I see you’re going to be an unreasonable bitch about this so I’m going to leave now,” he says, leaning down to kiss the top of my head. “I love you, baby.” With that, he turns and walks out the front door, leaving me gaping after him.
“What the fuck just happened?” I whisper to myself. Was I being unreasonable? I know he hasn’t seen his family much lately but he hasn’t been with me either. He’s been working so much that he hasn’t had time for anyone.
God…I am a bitch.
He deserves to go out and have fun. He has been working so hard lately. I shouldn’t have picked a fight with him over this. Pulling out my phone, I send him a text to apologize.
Me: I’m sorry. I love you, have fun.
I plop down on the couch and stare at the blank screen of the TV. What should I do tonight? Maybe Addy and Daisy would like to go out. Just as I’m getting ready to call them, my phone buzzes in my hand.
Ryan: Thanks, baby. I love you.
I smile at his reply, feeling like all is right in my world again. I decide to call my friends.
Hell, if he can have a night out, so can I.

The three of us strut into the bar. It’s really busy tonight so we should be able to dance and have a good time. On Saturday and Sunday, Moe hires a DJ to draw in a bigger crowd, and I’m grateful for it tonight. I just want to let loose and have a little fun.
“Let’s go get drinks,” Daisy says and I nod in agreement before following her over to the bar. A loud wolf whistle erupts and I look up to see Moe grinning at me.
“Well, look what the cat dragged in,” he says with a wink.
I just shake my head and laugh. I have to admit that I do feel great tonight in my black skinny jeans and blue strapless top. My four-inch electric blue heels giving me an extra pep in my step.
“Jesus! Are you trying to get Tucker and me arrested?” Trey asks when he sees me. I just send a wink his way. He fights a grin as he shakes his head. “Fuckin’ little sisters are a pain in the ass.” I burst out laughing. His lips stretch into a grin, unable to fight it any longer.
“Oh, Trey.” He turns back to me. “Call Tucker and I’ll post those pictures of you and Tucker playing superheroes when you were five all over Facebook,” I threaten and his mouth drops to the floor. I fight back a smile as I think about the photos I just referenced. Tucker and Trey had just watched Batman and decided they needed to be superheroes so they put underwear on over their pants and tied fabric around their necks like capes.
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me.”
“Pain in my goddamn ass,” he mutters as he turns to grab me a beer. When he sets it on the bar, I give him my best innocent smile.
“Thanks, Trey.” I see the corner of his lips quirk up as he turns away from me to hide his smile.
“Let’s go dance!” Addy yells in my direction.
“Fuck me.” I hear Trey grumble and I motion to Addy that I need a second.
“Trey.” He glances up at me with an expectant look on his face.
“Yeah.”
