“How does she sleep through everything?” I ask softly.
Keely laughs softly, then takes a step backward, moving toward the bassinet. I watch them together. My woman. My baby. Fuck me, but they’re perfect. Keely shifts her focus from the bassinet to me. A small smile plays on her lips.
“Because she’s perfect,” she whispers. “Absolutely perfect.”
There is a moment of silence where we stare at one another, and I take in her perfection. “Just like her mother,” I murmur. “Missed you, babe.”
She moves away from the bassinet and back toward me, one step, then another, until she’s directly in front of me again. Curling my fingers around her hips, I tug her closer, so close that I can feel her tits press against my chest.
Dipping my chin, I touch my mouth to hers, needing to feel her lips against mine. They’re warm, and she’s sweet, so fucking sweet. Slipping my tongue out, I slide it across the seam of her lips, tasting her again.
I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the way she tastes. In fact, I’m pretty sure if something happened to my taste buds and Keely were the only flavor I could ever taste again, I would die a happy man.
I lift my head but don’t move away from her. I keep my grip tight around her hips and her body close to mine. “I missed you, too, Brock. You have no idea how much.”
I hum, reluctantly taking a step backward just as Thea lets out a little cry. Keely turns toward her, and I watch as she reaches for our baby. I guess I won’t be getting laid this morning. At least not yet.
Keely moves around, changing Thea’s diaper and getting a bottle ready for her before she crawls into bed and begins to feed her. I don’t move, unsure of what to do. I feel completely and totally useless in this moment.
“Sit with us. We should talk,” Keely calls out. Sliding my gaze from her holding Thea to her eyes, I arch a brow.
We should talk sounds bad.
Beyond bad.
Shrugging my cut off, I fold it in half and place it on the top of the dresser before I toe off my boots and strip out of everything except my boxer briefs. I need a shower, but she wants to have a conversation, so who am I to deny her anything? I don’t think I could, to be honest.
I sink down on the edge of the bed, sitting beside her thigh. Keely touches her phone’s screen and then slides the device toward me. “This email came this morning.”
Picking up her phone, I shift my gaze from her to the email, and as my eyes scan the simple two-sentence message, my blood begins to pump harder, faster, and louder than ever before.
Fuck. Him.
Flicking my focus back up to her, I tilt my head to the side. “They can’t do fuck all, babe. But to put your mind at ease, we’re going shopping and we’re going to Vegas.”
“Vegas?” she asks.
“We’re getting married.”
And that is goddamn that.
CHAPTER
FORTY-NINE
KEELY
We’re getting married.
What the actual…
I stare at him, Thea none the wiser about this situation as she just happily drinks her bottle in my arms. I blink, unsure of how to respond to this situation. I mean, we haven’t even been together a month. Hell, it hasn’t been two weeks, and he wants to get married.
Married.
Holy shit.
“Keely,” he says, his voice a bit sterner than I anticipate.
