I brace myself.
She circles me once.
Not rudely.
More like she's studying a painting. Then she claps her hands together.
“Magnificent.”
I blink.
“Excuse me?”
She turns to Mitchell.
“Where have you been hiding her?”
I point between us.
“He has not been hiding me anywhere.”
Mitchell's mouth twitches. The designer completely ignores me.
“Turn.”
“What?”
“Turn, darling.”
I look at Mitchell. He shrugs.
Helpful.
Apparently deciding I've already followed one billionaire into enough insanity for the day, I sigh and turn.
The designer makes a delighted sound.
“Oh, yes.”
She gestures toward my waist.
“This.”
Then my hips.
“And this.”
Then she waves dramatically at all of me.
“Finally, something to work with.”
My mouth falls open. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
So naturally, I do neither.
“You have a beautiful figure,” she announces. “Why are you hiding it in those trousers?”
“I wasn't aware I was hiding anything.”
