“Why?”

“Want to kiss you before I go.”

Her expression flickers.

For a moment, I think she'll tell me where to shove that idea.

Instead, she gets up.

She stops in front of me, arms crossed.

“This doesn't mean I'm not angry with you.”

“Wouldn't dream of assuming that.”

“And we're going to finish this conversation.”

“Count on it.”

I brush my thumb along her cheek.

Then I kiss her.

She kisses me back, but the second I try to pull her closer, she steps away.

“Go see your brothers, Torch.”

I nod.

“Lock the door behind me.”

Her eyebrow rises.

“Please,” I add.

“Look at you. Learning manners.”

“Don't get used to it.”

“Wouldn't dream of it.”

There's my girl.

I step outside before I decide the clubhouse can wait.

Two prospects are stationed near the driveway.

One is keeping an eye on the road. The other stands beside my Harley.

About damn time.

I left the bike at the clubhouse when we took the club SUV to the safe house. Been itching to get back on it ever since.

“Keys?” I ask.

The prospect hands them over.

“Tank's full. We checked her over.”
