“No.”

“Not because you paid twenty grand and you’re trying to get your money’s worth.”

Her mouth twitches. “Although the return so far has been disappointing.”

My eyes narrow. “Careful.”

“Or what?”

I step closer. “I’m running out of reasons to be good.”

She takes my face between her hands. “Then stop being good.”

I kiss her.

Right there.

On the street.

In front of Sally.

In front of every asshole currently pretending not to stare through the windows.

I don’t give a shit.

Clara’s arms lock around my neck.

When I finally lift my head, she’s breathing hard.

“So,” she whispers. “Are we still done?”

“Shut up.”

She smiles. “That’s not an answer.”

“No.”

“No what?”

“We’re not fucking done.”

“Good.”

I grab her helmet. “Get on the bike.”

This time she does.

We make it to my place in seven minutes.

Possibly six.

Clara takes off her helmet. “You rode too fast.”

“Shouldn’t have spent the whole ride rubbing against me.”

“I was holding on.”

“Sure you were.”
