“What?”
“The sculpture depicts Hera. The original was commissioned after a particularly unpleasant dispute with Zeus.”
I stare at him.
“You’re serious?”
“Entirely.”
I grab my notebook.
“Tell me everything.”
His expression turns smug.
“Oh, now you wish to hear my wisdom?”
I narrow my eyes.
“Don’t push it.”
He grins.
“Very well. But I require payment.”
“Payment?”
“A kiss.”
I laugh.
“You’re charging me for historical research?”
“Naturally.”
“That’s unethical.”
“I’m a god, darling. Ethics are negotiable.”
I rise onto my toes and kiss him.
He catches my waist and deepens it.
When I finally pull away, I’m breathless.
“Okay,” I whisper. “Talk.”
His eyes gleam.
“Actually, I believe I’ve forgotten.”
I smack his chest.
“Morpheus!”
He laughs.
