His gaze drops to my mouth.
“I felt it.”
Something warm curls through my stomach.
“Well, I should hope so. I’m very good with my hands.”
His eyes flash.
“Show me.”
I laugh.
“Wow. You really don’t waste time, do you?”
“Time is something I’ve endured far too much of.”
There’s something in his voice that makes my smile falter.
For a moment, he doesn’t look arrogant or amused.
He looks lonely.
Then he lifts his chin, and the commanding god returns.
“Come here, Calla.”
I fold my arms.
“Excuse me?”
“Approach.”
I stare at him.
“Did you just order me to come to you?”
“Yes.”
“Like a dog?”
His brow furrows.
“I do not understand.”
“Clearly.”
I plant a hand on my hip.
“Listen, Your Divine Hotness. I don’t know how things worked back in ancient Greece, but we live in a civilized society now. You can’t just summon women and start barking orders.”
He considers this.
“Would you prefer I summon you gently?”
I bite back a smile.
“I’d prefer you ask.”
