I felt like I was stuck in drying concrete. I didn’t want to move away from her. I wanted to get even closer.
Her eyes met mine one last time. “We’re not done talking about this.”
The corners of my mouth lifted slightly. “Didn’t think we were.”
She rolled her eyes before turning and slipped back into the crowd, leaving me alone in my thoughts.
I needed to get a grip on myself, because if I didn’t, I fear I’m going to do something a hell of a lot worse than just put my arm around her waist in the middle of a party.
Jesus fucking Christ, I’m screwed.
Chapter 18
Eliana
I STARED AT MY CEILING for a good half-hour before I got out of bed this morning.
I couldn’t get over the way Wyatt acted with me last night when one of his teammates decided to get a little flirty with me.
The possessiveness, the jealousy that oozed out of him all because some guy had his hands on me and it wasn’t him.
We kissed one time…Well, more than once. And now he’s acting like he can stake a claim on me in front of his team? Did he forget who we were around?
After he went away from his coach, he was right back near me, making little advances throughout the night. Sending me reminders that even though nothing was official, I was off-limits to anyone on the team.
The little touches on my lower back, the way his hand was always near my hip if he was close to me. If I moved away, he didn’t know what to do with his hands.
I groaned, getting out of bed and getting myself ready for my Pilates session.
The workout that Wyatt didn’t know he would be joining me at this morning.
I told him that I wanted to work out with him this morning, and he was all over it. Let’s see how that changes when he finds out just what type of workout I’m making him do.
He was going to hate me, but this was going to make some great content for his socials.
Once I got ready, I made my way down to the kitchen to get my water filled and get some coffee in my system.
Footsteps sounded on the stairs as I took a sip of my coffee.
“It’s way too fucking early,” Wyatt’s voice came, rough with sleep as he walked into view.
I turned slowly, already fighting a smile.
He was wearing gray sweats, low on his hips, and his hair was a damn mess.
Gray sweatpants really should be banned from hot guys.
“Funny,” I said, leaning against the counter. “Thought you would be more of a morning person.”
He squints his eyes at me, pouring himself a cup of coffee. “No. Only when I want to be.”
“It’s only 6:30.” I say.
“Exactly.”
I take another sip, watching him over the ring of my mug. “You’re an athlete, you should be used to the early mornings.”
“Yeah, well I can train later.” He mumbled.
