Belladonna’s Nightmare

I nodded but was uncertain what to make of him. Since he was new, we were learning more about him. That he was a top assassin and a brother in the RBMC in Camden made things a little awkward. The one thing that eased most of our worries was his love for Brielle and Nun.

Nun had gone for a triad. At first, Priest had tried to force her to choose, and he’d lost. She’d picked Blue, who had her loyalty. Then Brielle kicked his ass, and Priest came back. Neither Blue nor Priest was bisexual or interested in each other, but they both adored Nun. They were making it work, and I was happy for them.

After what she’d suffered, Nun deserved happiness and love. I was now watching several of my sisters who I thought were attracted to some of Wylde’s acquaintances. It looked like what Sapphire, Sparrow, and I had dreamed of was coming true. We’d created an all-women’s club, but most of the male species couldn’t handle that because of their fragile egos. We’d prayed special men would find sisters who were all alphas and could bend to them. Hayden Wylde had been the first.

He remained all macho and alpha male, but would give in to Sapphire. It didn’t affect his ego whatsoever, which cheered me no end. Blue had been part of our stable, so he was used to how things worked. He was adapting to being an old man, which was significantly different from being a stud who serviced us. We’d also recently lost Cass, as he’d got his degree and was now working for us as the bookshop manager, so he was no longer in the stable.

Sapphire was looking to recruit two to replace them. Like men, if we got an itch and wanted to get laid, why shouldn’t we? Male clubs had club sluts; we had the stable. They were well treated and cared for. Like Cass, they had other options available too.

Priest came down. He wore his uniform of jeans and a tee, but I knew he also owned some very expensive suits. Priest had decided not to travel abroad as often. He’d made his money and was content assassinating people at home who deserved it. He’d agreed to take a few contracts overseas, so he’d now be present for Brielle.

“The electronic werewolf!” he exclaimed and started unwrapping the package.

Brielle coughed and shoved him, and he glanced at me. “Let’s go nuts!” I said, and with a wicked grin, we began opening stuff.

I dared not look. Roars, cackles, booms, bangs, and eerie sounds came from outside. I wasn’t a wimp, but some of those moving decorations were downright scary and freaked the crap out of me.

“You okay?” Saxon, one of the stable, asked.

“I hate Halloween. Zombies and ghouls and all that shit scare the fuck out of me,” I complained.

Saxon looked amused. “I really dislike horror movies,” he admitted.

“You do?” I questioned, bemused.

“Yup. Full on loathe them. I can’t even watch five minutes of them.”

I gasped. “Saxon, Belladonna’s about to make the clubhouse a real-life nightmare…”

“I know. It’s okay. I can be silently terrified.” Saxon chuckled.

“Damn, man, I’m sorry.” I hesitated. “Are you alright after what happened with Sapphire? You’ve been quiet for a while.”

It was an unspoken rule: the stable were treated with respect and not like whores. Yet when Sapphire had broken up with Wylde, she’d handled Saxon like that, and he’d felt it deep. Sapphire owned her mistake and asked for his forgiveness, but Saxon still seemed on edge.

“I’m okay, took a while to get my head straight after the mind fuck,” he said honestly.

“You’re staying?”

“Yeah. For now. Who knows what the future will bring,” Saxon replied.

“If you need any support—”

“I know, Veep, thanks.” Saxon walked away.

I turned and checked the clubhouse. Since it was Saturday, most were working, though a few lingered around. Sapphire was in her office, so I headed there to see if she wanted any help. I handled our smuggling side, and nothing was currently due out or in. I’d made my deliveries for the month, and I was waiting for new supplies to arrive.

“Hey, you need anything doing?” I asked Sapphire as I knocked and entered.

“I’m considering strangling Belladonna?”

“Heard that,” Belladonna boomed into both our minds.

“You were meant to. It’s why I aimed at you,” Sapphire retorted.

I snickered.
