Belladonna’s Nightmare

“Get off my damn man!” Nun complained, yanking Sailor to her feet.

Lightning landed nearby, and Nun grinned. “Candle brought a party! Oh, yeah!”

Priest turned to her. “Babe, if you wanna stay and fight, that’s okay. I’m going.”

Nun didn’t hesitate. “Come on. We’re heading out. The clubhouse isn’t far, and Brielle needs us.”

That was when I knew that Nun truly loved him, and that was just fine with me. She was a menace in zombie games, and this was her dream come true. I hoped Priest understood Nun’s sacrifice!

Teddy

This shit was whacked, I thought as I bashed a zombie’s brains in. Tinkerbell was behind me, freezing them as Heart and Fortune smashed them to smithereens. I was covering their backs from the randoms coming at us.

“Never guessed you’d be doing this, rich boy,” Fortune teased.

“Don’t judge me by my father,” I said and swung.

“Nah, we’d never do that,” Heart retorted. “You ain’t no stiff.”

“Not yet anyway.” I staggered back as two reached, and I kicked one away and hit the other.

“Zombie apocalypse. Who’d have fuckin’ thought it,” I muttered.

“Teddy, run,” Tink yelled, and I chased after them. We’d been surrounded, and if not for Tink, we’d have been dead. She’d cleared the way for us single-handedly.

I helped her steady herself as she staggered, and I saw the tiredness in her eyes. A clawed hand flashed at her, and I smashed it away and caught her up. I threw her over my shoulder and ran as fast as I could after the others. She’d saved us; now I’d save her.

Chapter Seven.

Warrick

Somewhere out there was my brother. I hoped he was fuckin’ alive. Little Harbor Rd was clear, and we headed toward the clubhouse.

“What the hell?” I asked as we saw several burned-out cars across the road blocking it. Barbed wire covered them, and we swapped glances. Zombies, all with head injuries, were positioned three deep in places.

“Someone showed up out here and defended the clubhouse,” Dagger murmured.

“Climb over and be careful,” Birdie said, scrambling up onto a car. She began climbing as we heard a movement in the trees. I boosted Poker as a zombie emerged from the treeline. Dagger took it out as I lifted Blade.

“Dagger, come on,” I called softly. Dagger jogged back towards me, and I helped her up and scrambled up myself. Carefully, we climbed over the vans behind the cars and gingerly stepped over the barbed wire.

“Well, that worked,” Dagger quipped as zombies shuffled out of the darkness.

“Let’s kill,” Blade replied, and they jumped down and began smashing brains.

Cassidy broke out of the trees and stared at me before grabbing me in a hug.

“Move, we’ve got a swarm behind us,” he said, and I glanced at the others.

Vengeance held up her hands, but she was staggering.

Sparrow lurched forward as she shoved a bunch of zombies back hard, then fell.

“Fuck!” Cassidy exclaimed. He scooped her up as Vengeance slowly collapsed to the ground. Trees moved as plants grew rapidly, entangling the zombies.

“I can’t do much more,” Vengeance gasped as I picked her up.

“It’s okay, I’m here,” Poker responded. “I can boost you both if necessary.”
