Seeing What’s in Front of You

Nix chuckles but doesn’t disagree. I find that my hands move a little faster as well.

It’s weird, now that I have feelings for Nix and Kassian, it feels like a new world has been opened to me. Before them, I was never interested in sex. Sure, every once in a while I would jerk off but I never once had a desire to actually touch another person that way.

They’re different though. It’s like my affections for them have opened up this new part of my brain. Now I crave them physically. I want to make them feel good and in turn, I want them to do the same for me. I want to learn what feels good for the first time, guided by three uncertain pairs of hands. I want them the same way they want me and each other.

Now that I’m here with them, I don’t know if I’ll ever be truly sated. I don’t think that’s such a bad thing.

Chapter Fourteen

Kassian

I lounge on the couch with a book in hand. Yes, a couch instead of another hotel bed. We’re staying in our very first AirBnB and it feels downright luxurious. I’m finally getting around to reading the book that Dean recommended to me after we first met. Somehow, even back then, he nailed my tastes exactly.

This coming of age political intrigue book is exactly what I would normally get completely sucked into. The characters are great, the setting is amazing, this author’s prose is to die for, yet I find myself staring at the page unreading more than actually following the words. I look back over to the front door, waiting, like somehow by looking at it, it’ll open revealing Nix.

I had a dream last night, thanks to being so close to Dean all the time. I know Nix will be coming home soon and I know exactly what’s going to happen when he’s back. I already took a shower, making sure every inch of myself was squeaky clean in preparation.

My legs bounce where they lie against the back of the couch. Anticipation makes my body warm all over. I’ve been wanting this for such a long time I can barely believe it’s going to happen today.

“What’s got you wiggling so much?” Dean asks, sitting down at the other end of the couch. Immediately, I shift so I can lay my legs in his lap. His hand cups my ankle, massaging it and making me shiver.

“Just have a good feeling about today?”

Dean raises his brow at me. “Do you know something I don’t know?”

I hum, grinning over at my partner. “Maybe,” I say in a sing-song voice. “It’s something you’re gonna like. Trust me.”

“I trust you,” he says right away, squeezing my ankle.

There’s something so overwhelming about having someone’s trust. I feel like I’ve always had Nix’s trust. We’ve been side by side since we were kids. I trust him like I trust myself. Gaining Dean’s trust feels different but no less satisfying. It wasn’t a sure thing. I had to work at it.

“I trust you too, Dean.”

Dean gives me a soft smile before opening his book. We both read for a bit before the front door bursts open. Nix walks in, his cheeks red, completely out of breath. He storms over to the couch, staring down at us with a crazed look in his eyes.

“I have the goods,” he says seriously.

Dean raises his brow. “Sorry, what?”

Nix produces a plastic bag from behind his back, holding it for us to see. “Condoms! I bought condoms! And lube!”

The words hang in the air between all of us. I do my best to conceal my smile as I reach under the pillow and also show a box of condoms.

“So did I.”

Dean looks between us. “So did I.”

We stare at each other before Nix buries his face in his hands. “Oh my gods! Why did I have to suffer if you both bought some!”

Dean just shrugs. “They’ll be put to use.”

“Dean!” I say, a giggle bursting out of me. All three of us laugh. When we finally calm down, there’s a tangible air of anticipation around us.

Now that we have the supplies, there’s nothing holding us back.

“Well?” Nix says, his face still red. “Can we?”

“Can we what, Nix?”
