Finding His Silver Fox Daddy

He sighed. “I get it. But just because I’ve given up on finding my Daddy doesn’t mean you should.”

I pursed my lips then fluttered my hand in the air between us. “I know, but it’s totally fine. I’m okay being single. Relationship guys will have a problem with my chosen profession, anyway. I’m good with great, no-strings sex for a while longer.” Liar, my inner voice unhelpfully shot back. You haven’t had sex with another person in months. I squirmed in my seat, looking for a way to force the thoughts out of my head. Nothing came to mind.

Cameron just stared at me for a minute, but then he shrugged. “I disagree, but okay. Though if that ever changes, let me know. I can help you lock down a man.”

I quirked an eyebrow at him, fighting back a laugh. “With all your authorly skills?”

He squealed in a completely manly way. “Yes, totally! I’ve studied interpersonal behavior extensively, so I can help you figure out how best to get someone’s attention. Maybe your online admirer, maybe someone else.” He winked. “Just hit me up.”

I let my laugh free. “Okay, man, will do. You’ll be my first call if I want to seduce MrFox43.”

His eyes widened. “That’s his handle?” He tapped his chin while staring blankly at his kitchen cabinets. “What do you suppose it means?”

I shook my head, smiling. “It probably doesn’t mean anything.”

He scoffed then finished his juice before settling back in his chair. “Indulge me. So he’s probably a guy from the ‘mister.’”

I nodded, crossing my arms and leaning back in my own chair. I was ridiculously curious as to where he was going with this.

He gasped suddenly, and I jumped a little. “Or what if the Mr means Master? You’re on the Daddy’s Boy app, right? There’s a decent chance he’s a Dom.”

I shrugged. “Sure, maybe. He did refer to himself as ‘Daddy.’”

Cameron grinned. “Even better.”

“Jealous?”

“Entirely.”

I snickered.

“Okay, Fox could be his last name or favorite animal or maybe . . .” Another gasp. “Okay, he’s definitely a silver fox. A sexy older dude, totally your type.”

“You don’t know that.”

He shook his head. “Just go with it. We’re gonna manifest that shit for you.”

I laughed at his antics.

“But the forty-three . . .” Cameron’s brow furrowed as if he was trying to solve the mysteries of the universe. “Couldn’t be the year he was born. That would make him in his . . . eighties? Ugh. Nope.”

I snorted, covering my mouth.

“His age? Hmm, maybe. That’s kinda hot, right? But if he’s a silver fox—excuse me, since he’s a silver fox—that might not be right. His hair probably wouldn’t have turned gray yet. So that leaves, um . . .” He started ticking off his ideas on his fingers. “He could be into sports and that was his jersey number or his favorite player’s number. Or maybe it’s a lucky number. Or a celebrity thing somehow? Or . . . ugh, okay, I give up. I think you’re going to have to ask him about that one.”

I shook my head, standing to clear the table and dispose of our dishes. “Not happening, dude. Not unless something changes.”

Cameron stood with me. “Okay, okay. I won’t pry . . . much.”

I laughed again, wrapping my arms around him and pulling him against my chest. He was shorter than me by several inches, but he gave the best hugs. “I would be disappointed if you didn’t.” I clapped him on the back before I released him. “I love you, man.”

He grinned up at me. “I love you, too. Thanks for lunch.”

I smiled back. “Of course. Gotta keep you fed until you have an in-person Daddy who will make sure you eat—or else.”

He shivered, and I knew where his thoughts had headed. Which was the point of my remark, I supposed, but also my cue to leave.

My bestie followed me through his cozy living room, and I turned to him after I opened the front door. “I hope your online friend turns into something more.”
