A warm blush burned my cheeks.
“We need to get there early and scope it out. You have to get a seat next to him. Oh!” He turned to face me, and I automatically supported his back. However, having his face so close to mine made me swallow again. Was it just me or did he have really soft-looking lips? Chris continued, “Text Aaron and ask if he wants a sample of your protein powder.”
I flushed yet again. “That sounds like a euphemism."
“Wow, it does,” he rejoined, laughing. “Ohmygod, tell him you want to give him a nice load of protein! No, a protein shot! Or—”
“Okay,” I shoved him off my lap, and he fell with a squawk. “I’m not saying any of that.”
“Nonono! Bro-tein! You just want to supply him with some of your potent bro-tein!” Chris curled up, giggling at his own joke. “Hey, bro, you want to try some of my… bro-tein. It’s packed with nutrients and vitality.”
“You’re a moron.” I shook my head, but I was smiling at his antics. Ignoring Chris’s increasingly ridiculous “bro-tein” jokes, I snagged my phone and sent Aaron a text.
Jaxon
Hey, this is Jaxon
Aaron
Hey!
Jaxon
Thanks for letting Chris share your number
Aaron
Of course, man
Jaxon
If you want to try my protein powder, I can give you some. I’m not trying to sell you on anything.
Aaron
That’d be awesome. Thanks
Jaxon
Cool
A picture of Aaron’s class schedule popped up, and my eyes widened and my mouth dropped open. Chris hadn’t needed to find it in a roundabout (or disturbing, depending on your opinion) way; Aaron had just handed it to me with no prompting.
Jaxon
I have the same English class
Aaron
Really?!
Jaxon
Me and Chris are taking it
I’ll bring a sample to class
