It’s so normal, and it feels so right.
I decide it’s now or never.
“Lev,” I say quietly.
“Hmmmm?” he asks, letting go of my thigh and gripping my hand.
I take a deep breath. “So, are we boyfriends?”
The way I say it makes him laugh.
“Is that what you want, Dare?” He turns to look at me, and I nod. He smiles softly and says, “I would love nothing more than for you to be my boyfriend.”
I feel like I’m going to soar right out of my seat. “I really want to be your boyfriend. I want us together officially, Lev.”
“I want that too,” he agrees. He squeezes my hand and then kisses my knuckles, and my heart melts.
About an hour after we started driving, Lev pulls off the main road and navigates through a few back roads. The roads get more narrow and less traveled as we go.
Curiosity finally gets the best of me, and I ask, “Where are we going?”
He smirks. “Just a little place I know, boyfriend.”
I can’t help smiling or the flip-flop of my stomach, but I sit back, trusting that whatever he has planned will be great. We drive farther down the one-lane road into nothingness, and after we cross over to a dirt road, he slows the car. A few deer run across in front of us, and I jump.
“What’s the matter, lycan? Wolves aren’t afraid of deer.”
I chuckle, but I’m still unsettled. They spooked me.
He pulls the car through a bunch of trees, into a clearing, then cuts the headlights. The only light is the interior of the dashboard, glowing in a bluish-purple color.
“Where are we?” I ask.
“We used to come here a lot back in the day. We’d come out here to party.”
I suck in a breath as realization hits me. “Wait!” I turn toward Lev. “Is this . . . This is the secret place you guys used to always come to! The one that you would pretend wasn’t real but would always tease me about!”
Lev smiles.
“This is it! I knew this was a place. I knew you guys had a place that you came to hang, and I was always so jealous because I knew it would be super cool. Wait, you brought me here?”
Lev laughs. “This is exciting for you, huh?” he teases.
“I mean, I just . . . I knew that there was somewhere you would go, and it used to piss me off so much because I never knew where it was. You guys kept this locked up tight.”
“Very few people know about it, and it’s super private.” Lev lets go of my hand and traces circles on my thigh. My heart rate speeds up a little. “It’s really private,” he says again, a tease in his tone.
That’s all it takes. “Push your chair back,” I command, and he gives a low chuckle.
“Just what I was hoping for,” he says, as I maneuver myself to straddle him in the driver’s seat. It’s awkward and cramped, but he manages to get the seat back as far as he can go, reclining it to give us a little more room.
As soon as we’re settled, my mouth crashes down on Lev’s, and we’re a tangle of lips and teeth and tongues. I’m instantly turned on, and I grind against him, feeling his cock start to swell in his pants, too. We’re both breathing heavily as the kisses deepen, and our hands move to explore as much as they can. Mine find Lev’s head, and I tilt his face so I can devour his mouth. His hands slide up under my shirt and jacket, which is just in the way at this point, so I lean forward and try to take it off. We laugh as he helps me. It’s comical, really—two adult men in the front seat of a car.
We kiss more, deeper, and I rock down into him, needing more pressure and friction. He groans, which doesn’t help.
“Take your shirt off,” I say against his lips, and he listens immediately. I straighten up with him to pull it off over his head. Then our lips meet again.
I scoot my ass back as far as I can so I can reach his pants. My butt hits the car horn, and it blasts out into the silent darkness. Lev snickers, and I snort a laugh, then he lets go of my body and wiggles out of his pants. Thank god he was wearing sweatpants, and they come off easily.
