“The Omegas are taken care of. We have connections with medical facilities nearby. Those with families they can go back to will, those without…” he trails and gazes out the window in the dark. “Well, we’ll do what we can to help them find a place to go.”
“The club.” The words pour from my lips before my brain registers them. “With Mama gone, we can make it ours. Do something… different. Helpful.”
But can we, though? The woman is dead, had no next of kin, and I have no idea how we’d get ownership of the building or business.
“That’s very noble of you, love. We’ll do whatever we can to help you.” Garen leans in and kisses my temple lightly. “And I believe I have an idea.”
It’s nearly daylight again by the time we make it back to the club, which is where I’d told my Alphas I needed to be taken.
For now.
When we enter the building, all is quiet, but the Omegas are gathered in the main room together, along with the overnight guards.
“Sin!”
Matty rushes me, wrapping himself around my body with a sob.
“I was so scared,” he says. “I’m so happy you’re okay.”
I give him what I’m sure is the weakest, most fake smile I’ve ever mustered as I hold his face between my hands. “I’m okay. And we need to talk.” I look out at the rest of those gathered. “I have news.”
It doesn’t take me very long to tell them all what happened, and how Mama had helped Bert kidnap me. How they’re both dead now.
“But…” Vicki’s panicked eyes flit across the room. “Where are we supposed to go?”
“Well,” I hedge, “that’s up to you all.”
I look back at my Alphas again, and they finally come to join us, Ilya and Garen sitting on either side of me in the empty chairs, and Cade placing his large tablet on the table and standing it up, facing the others.
“Cordelia ‘Mama’ Tremayne had no heir. Not that it matters, since she stole this property in the first place, murdering the original owner.”
Reactions are mixed, the Omegas and bouncers looking either horrified or not at all surprised by this revelation.
Me? I’d learned all about this during the ride here.
“That being said,” he taps on the screen, “we want to hand you all a choice. We’re more than willing and able to change the ownership of this building to all of you, as equal shares. And you can choose to run a business here, or you can sell and split the profit.”
Matty turns big, brown eyes on me. “What do you want to do?”
My head shakes. “This is all you guys. I’m not taking any share of the ownership.”
“What? Why?”
“Because I’m not staying.” My heart aches as I say the words, but when I look at Ilya, Garen, and Cade, I feel nothing but warmth. Love. “I’m going to live with my mates.”
Matty’s sad expression turns to a bright smile in a blink, a tear dropping from one of his eyes. “You deserve this,” he whispers.
“I don’t know anything about running a business,” Bets says.
“And I don’t want to do this anymore.” Vicki shudders.
“You can change this place into whatever you want,” Ilya tells them. “Then you’ll all be independent and have income.”
“We’ll help you. Free of charge, of course.” Cade nods at them. “You all deserve this second chance.”
“We’ll stay and help.” This from Garcia, one of the bouncers, as he gestures around the room. “Once word gets out that Mama is gone, that could put this place in danger.”
“And the new owners,” Thompson, another bouncer, adds. His eyes keep falling on Matty who keeps looking away and blushing whenever their gazes meet.
