Or I could try to find all of the ownership transfer paperwork and see if there’s a way to prove that she forged it after his death. But again, that would take far too long. So, I’m left with one final thought.

Another option that we could take. An option of violence. But would that be something Sin would want?

I really need to talk to her. But I don’t know how safe talking to her inside the club would be, even in the private rooms.

As I sit in the decrepit building across the alley, watching patrons go in and out of the club, it becomes clear that I’m my own worst enemy.

It doesn’t matter if it’s safe to speak with Sin in there or not. It only matters that I get up off my ass and go see her, be with her. Just like I’ve wanted all this time.

So, I make the call.

I reserve Sin for the whole night.

It’s been four days since Ilya came back from his visit with her, and this may be far too soon for another full night booking, but I just don’t care anymore. I’m going insane sitting here waiting and not knowing when I would get to see her and talk to her and be alone with her.

I have to make this happen, for her safety and for my sanity.

When I walk into the club, Mama is at the podium, waiting to take payment from guests. I pass her the copious amounts of cash owed for an entire night with Sin and she barely even looks up at me.

Hopefully that’s for the best, this way she won’t recognize me if I run into her outside the club. But I’m sure she’ll be checking all of the security tapes.

It’s what I’d do.

I know that there is an extensive security surveillance system installed inside this club. I’ve seen the receipts and even spoken to the contractors.

The next thing on my list that I’m going to be tackling is hacking into the security system so that we can always ensure that Sin is safe. And also see whatever Mama sees.

When a bouncer leads me to the back of the club and to a door that’s closed, he gives a strangely-paced knock, and a familiar voice from inside the room calls out, “Come in.”

The bouncer gestures for me to open the door before walking away.

I put my hand on the knob, take a breath, and I push the door open.

There she is, the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. A woman who has completely taken over my mind, my thoughts, my dreams. There’s nothing about this woman that I don’t love, and I barely even know her.

I know logically that most of this is because of pheromones and our fated scent match, but I’ve been with many beautiful women in my life, of all designations, and Sin is the one who takes my breath away every time I see her, near or far.

Those beautiful black and blue locks of hair, her bright blue eyes. Lush lips that match her lush, breasts, and hips, just enough curve there that I can imagine gripping them tightly while fucking her, knotting her, and claiming her as mine.

I realize that I’m standing in the open doorway and haven’t even entered the room yet, feet still firmly planted in the hall, when Sin smiles brightly at me, her eyes crinkling at the corners.

“I’m so happy to see you. I was wondering when you were going to come for me.”

Her welcome makes my heart stutter, and I pass through the threshold, close the door behind me and rush over to her wrap my arms around her, spin her around like we haven’t seen each other in decades, and I’ve been waiting for this moment for all that time, even though I see her often but she doesn’t see me.

She giggles, a little squeal at the end when I finally put her down, cupping her face between my palms. “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that.”

Her smile turns a little crooked. “Just the spinning hug?”

I laugh, press my forehead against hers, peck the tip of her nose. “Not only the hug. But that is something I’ve been dreaming of. Embracing you freely and without any fear.”

The mention of freedom and fear brings a darkness to her gaze, and I wish I never brought it up. She takes a step back from me, but takes my hands and hers. “Why don’t we sit and talk for a bit? I feel like the last time we had a conversation, you kind of steamrolled me and I didn’t get any information about you.”

I chuckle a little nervously. She’s absolutely right. I pretty much interrogated her on New Year’s Eve night. But there was a good reason, and I did learn that my instincts about her and Petrov were right, among other things.

Sin leads me to the couch in the back of the room, and we sit beside each other, our hands still joined.

“So, you and your brothers must be very rich.”
