“What’s in it for you?” he repeats, voice dropping to that gravelly tone that makes my knees weak. “How about I remind you exactly what happens when you tease me?”
My breath catches. “Is that a threat or a promise?”
“Both.” His other hand comes up to cup my jaw, thumb brushing over my bottom lip. “Now open the door before I take you right here where all your neighbors can see.”
Heat floods through me at the image. Part of me wants to push further to see how far I can take this before he snaps completely.
“Beg me,” I whisper, trailing my finger down his shirt. “Tell me how badly you want to come inside.”
“I don’t beg.”
“Then I guess you’re going home.” I turn toward the door, slowly inserting the key into the lock.
His hand closes around my wrist. He spins me around, pressing me against the door, his body caging mine completely. His nostrils flare, and I can feel the tension rippling through his body. I press my luck, sliding my free hand between us to cup him through his jeans. He’s already rock hard and straining against the denim.
“Poor baby,” I coo, giving him a gentle squeeze that makes his breath hitch. “All worked up and nowhere to go.”
His fingers tighten around my wrist, and with his other hand, he roughly grabs my chin, forcing me to look at him. “You’re asking for trouble.”
“Am I?” I bat my eyelashes as I continue to stroke him through his jeans. “I’m just having a little fun. Not my fault if you can’t handle it.”
That does it. Something snaps in his expression, and before I can blink, he wrenches the keys from my hand.
“You want to play games?” His voice is dangerously low as he unlocks the door himself. “Let’s play.”
The door swings open behind me, and I stumble backward as he advances, kicking it shut with his boot. In one fluid motion, he lifts me, hands gripping my thighs as my legs instinctively wrap around his waist.
“You think you’re so clever,” he growls against my neck, teeth grazing the sensitive skin there. “Teasing me like that.”
I can’t help the breathless laugh that escapes me. “Worked, didn’t it?”
He carries me through the darkened condo, navigating by instinct. My back hits the wall of the hallway, hard enough to make me gasp but not enough to hurt. His mouth finds mine in a bruising kiss that steals the air from my lungs.
“You want me to beg?” He shifts his hips, pressing his hardness against my core. Even through our clothes, the friction is delightful.
“I want you to admit you need this just as much as I do,” I gasp against his mouth, rolling my hips to meet his. “That you can’t stop thinking about it.”
He groans, the sound vibrating through me as his hands tighten on my thighs. “You’re fucking impossible.”
“That’s not begging,” I tease, nipping at his bottom lip.
Without warning, he spins us away from the wall. “Where’s your bedroom?”
“Put me down,” I demand, more breathless than commanding.
“No. Bedroom, Whitley. Where is it?”
Oh yes. That dominant tone does it for me. “Second door on the right, down the hall.”
He gets us there in half as many steps as it would have taken me. He kicks the bedroom door open, the wood banging against the wall as he strides in. The moonlight streaming through the window casts everything in silver and shadow, illuminating the hard planes of his face as he lowers me onto the bed.
I make a half-hearted move to scramble backward, not because I want to escape, but because I’m having way too much fun.
His hand shoots out, wrapping around my ankle and dragging me back to the edge of the bed. His eyes glint in the darkness, predatory and focused.
“You asked for this,” he says, voice rough with desire. “Now you’re going to take it.”
He looms over me, so incredibly powerful and imposing. His fingers find the hem of my dress, bunching the fabric as he pushes it up, slowly exposing my thighs. His movements pause, his eyes darkening as he realizes there’s nothing but bare skin beneath the silky material.
