“I got here, and she wasn't out front. The hostess said Callie checked in and then went to the restroom.”

My grip tightens around the phone. “Where is she?”

“I don't know.”

“Find her.”

“I tried. Marissa got here, and I thought Callie would be right back, so we sat down. I texted her, but she didn’t answer. So I went back to check on her...”

“And?”

“I found her purse on the floor. Her phone inside it. But she’s... gone.”

My hand tightens around the phone. “How long?”

“I don't know. Five minutes? Maybe a little longer.”

My pulse slows. Everything inside me goes cold.

Smoke moves closer.

“Did you check every stall?”

“Yes.”

Bishop pulls out his phone.

Something inside me drops. “Where did you find her purse?”

“By the sinks. Kind of near the door.”

I don't breathe. “Was it open?”

“Yes. Her stuff is everywhere.”

Smoke's face changes.

“There’s something else.”

“What?”

“There’s blood. Just a spot on the floor.”

My vision narrows.

I see Callie leaning over the console to kiss me. I love you too.

“Roman?” Violet's voice sounds far away.

“Listen to me,” I command. “Don't leave that restroom.”

“What?”

“Don't let anyone in.”

“Roman—”

“Lock the fucking door if you have to. Tell the manager nobody cleans it. Nobody touches anything.”
