“No.”
“You were willing to sell me the story thirty seconds ago.”
“That was before he threatened to kill me.”
“You said that was only seventy-thirty.”
“I've reconsidered.”
I grab his sleeve. “One hint.”
Beck glances over my shoulder. Roman is standing on the porch with his arms crossed.
Beck lowers his voice. “It involves a woman.”
My mouth falls open.
“Beck.” Roman's voice carries across the yard.
Beck grins. “Gotta go.”
“What woman?”
He opens his door. “Nice meeting you, Callie.”
“Was she naked?”
“Goodbye, Callie.”
“Was Roman naked?”
He gets into the truck.
“BECK!”
The door slams.
I turn. Roman is still standing on the porch.
I slowly walk toward him.
His eyes narrow.
I smile. “Hot Lips.”
He crosses his arms. “Go home.”
“Not until you tell me.”
“No.”
“Was she an ex?”
“No.”
“Stripper?”
“No.”
