The front door opens behind him. Roman steps onto the porch. His gaze lands on Beck, then on me. His expression goes completely blank.

Uh-oh.

“What the fuck?”

I smile. “Hi.”

Roman doesn't smile back. His eyes move over me, then scan the street again. “What are you doing here?”

“Visiting.”

“Who?”

“You.”

His gaze shifts to Beck. “What did you do?”

“Why are you asking me?”

“Because she's here.”

“That's not my fault.”

I lift my hand. “Technically, it kind of is.”

Both men look at me.

Roman's jaw tightens. “You followed him.”

“Maybe.”

Beck looks genuinely offended. “You followed me?”

“Yup. You did a great job leading me right to him.”

“I didn't know I was doing anything.”

“Exactly.”

Roman closes his eyes.

Beck starts laughing. “Holy shit.”

“Don't.”

“She's getting better.”

“Don't fucking encourage her.”

“I stayed several cars back,” I say.
