Alibi sneezes again.
I take that as confirmation.

My phone alerts me six minutes after I leave the gym.
I glance at the screen mounted on my dash. Unknown AirTag detected near you.
I stare at it for a beat.
Then laugh. Actually fucking laugh.
“Chaos.”
I have no doubt.
I should be annoyed. If anyone else put a tracker on my truck, they’d have a very bad fucking day.
Callie?
I shake my head and keep driving.
Of course she put a tracker on my truck.
An AirTag was inevitable.
What interests me more is when she managed to put it there.
My mind goes back to the sticky notes. Of course. She must've slipped it onto the truck while she was decorating the damn thing.
My mouth twitches.
Resourceful little stalker.
I drive another mile, then turn onto a side road. If she's following me, I don't want to stop somewhere without traffic. She'll stand out.
So I keep going until I reach a shopping center with a grocery store, pharmacy, a few restaurants, and enough vehicles in the parking lot for her to hide.
Then I pull over.
I don't immediately get out.
Instead, I check my mirrors. Nothing obvious. No silver sedan.
I wasn't expecting one. She knows I identified Gracie's car yesterday. If she's smart, she changed vehicles.
Let's see how smart you are, Chaos.
I wait, watching in my mirror.
A minivan passes me.
An older man pulls into the lot in a pickup.
A woman pushes a cart toward an SUV.
