Her mouth, especially.

I kiss her harder, catching her lower lip between mine, and Flora answers by sliding her hands under the hem of my shirt. Her palms settle against my bare skin, warm enough to make me shiver, her thumbs moving slowly over my skin.

Someone definitely passes on the sidewalk, because I hear footsteps and a voice.

We are approximately six feet from respectable society, and somehow that makes the fact that Flora has her hands under my clothes feel more scandalous than it probably is.

Then her mouth leaves mine.

She kisses the corner of my jaw first, then beneath it, and my head tips back against the wall before I consciously decide to give her more room. Her lips trail down the side of my neck, slow enough that I feel each peck separately, until she reaches the place where my sweater has slipped away from my shoulder.

She bites me there. Just the brief pressure of her teeth followed by the warmth of her breath against the same spot.

My fingers tighten around the front of her coat.

“Jesus.”

Flora smiles against my skin.

I feel it. Which might be the sexiest part.

“You cannot call me a good girl in public, Flora,” I say with a gasp. Her mouth moves back up my neck. “I can’t think clearly.”

“No?”

Flora lifts her head. Her cheeks are flushed, her lipstick slightly smudged at one corner, and she’s looking at me with an expression that sends another wave of heat through me.

“I never expected you to like it this much,” she says.

I stare at her.

“Okay. We’re going home.”

CHAPTER 37

MERRYWEATHER

We barely make it through the front door.

Flora gets one hand on it long enough to push it closed behind us before I’m kissing her again, and this time there is no sidewalk a few feet away, no possibility of someone turning the corner, no cold Seattle air reminding us that we are technically supposed to be behaving like fully functioning members of society.

Just Flora.

Her coat is still half on when I push it from her shoulders. It falls with a loud thump on the floor, and she smiles against my lips.

“You seem impatient.”

I open my mouth to defend myself and then decide there is absolutely no defense available to me, considering the things I just did to this woman out in public a mere ten minutes ago.

She smiles again, and it’s not the big one I can occasionally coax out of her when I catch her off guard. This one is smaller. Knowing.

Naughty.

It does terrible things to me.

I reach for her again, but she catches my wrist.

Before I can ask what she’s doing, Flora turns us, and my back hits the wall.
