Scarlett put her arm around me. “Always. It’s the four of us against the world.”

I dropped my head onto her shoulder.

“You guys really have to stop saying that,” RJ said and flopped down into the sand next to me. “It’s very rude.” He started making snow angels in the sand and I laughed.

Liam sat down beside him. “Yeah, how would you like it if we started hanging out with Nova and Chloe all the time and said it was the four of us against the world?” He raised his eyebrow at me and looked so much like Uncle James.

“You’d all be devastated,” RJ said.

I laughed. “Hardly.”

“That’s it.” RJ brushed off the back of his shorts as he stood up. And then he leaned down and lifted me over his shoulder.

“What are you doing?” I shrieked.

“Terrorizing you. It’s my job as your little brother.” He stepped into the water.

“Don’t you dare throw me in the ocean, RJ!” The water was freezing this time of year.

“Or...I could.”

“Stop it!” I laughed.

“I’ll never stop making you laugh, Soph.” He said as he flipped me off his back, depositing me in the water with a splash.

My head came to the surface and I spit out some salt water at him.

RJ was smiling.

“I’m fully dressed!” I yelled and splashed him with some water.

RJ laughed. He was fully dressed too. But our friends were kicking off their clothes and running into the water after us in their underwear.

“It’s freezing!” Scarlett yelled and tried to stop when the water got to her knees.

But Axel pulled her in farther.

I squealed when Jacob dunked my head under the water.

“What the hell?” I said and lightly shoved him.

“I was saving you from getting hit by a wave,” he said with a laugh.

“Mhm. Sure you were.”

“You know, I don’t really know why we’re all so mad at Adonis,” RJ said as he tried to float on the surface. “I think Aunt Penny is hot and it doesn’t mean I like baby doll any less.”

“Not funny,” Scarlett said. “Read the room.”

“We’re in the ocean, baby doll.”

Scarlett pushed him under the water.

“I was joking!” RJ said as he coughed. “Kind of.”

And then it turned into a full on splashing war.

Seriously...what had I been thinking when I thought it was a good idea to travel with Adonis? I didn’t want to willingly skip out on these moments.
