“What was your naked ass doing on my wife’s desk?!” my dad yelled.
Adonis laughed. “She asked for it.”
“Excuse me?” my dad said.
“Did she really not tell you about it? Keeping secrets from your husband, Miss H?” He winked at my mom.
“What did you just say about my wife?!” my dad yelled. I’d never seen him more upset. And I felt exactly the same way. But with a hint of nausea.
“I said she wanted me to be ass naked on her desk. That’s why she offered to give me extra help after school. And we all know what that means.”
“I offered you extra help because you were failing my class!” my mom shrieked.
“Sure.” Adonis winked at her again.
“I was trying to help him.” My mom turned to my dad. “I was just trying to be a good teacher and when I walked into my room after school he was naked on my desk!”
“You know you liked it, Daphne,” Adonis said.
“I did not like seeing your penis! And stop calling me by my first name!”
“It was really just the tip,” he said. “I was holding a notebook over my junk. It was actually quite tasteful. Kind of like that portrait of little bro in Scarlett’s sec...”
“Stop talking!” I yelled before he blabbed about our secret lair and got Scarlett grounded for the rest of her life.
Adonis pulled his eyebrows together as he looked down at me. “Aphrodite, why are you upset?”
“Why am I upset?! Adonis!”
He looked confused. And I was confused about why he was confused. He was hitting on my mom right in front of me!
“You like my mom?” I said and stepped away from him. I couldn’t even believe the words coming out of my mouth.
Adonis frowned. “Liked. Past tense.”
“When did it become past tense?” I hissed.
“A while ago.”
“When exactly?” I asked.
He shrugged. “A couple of months ago?”
I thought about when he’d first gotten to Empire High. How he’d bulldozed into my life. And how he kept asking to come to my house. Over and over again.
He hadn’t liked me. He’d just wanted to see my mom again. And I was how he’d get to her. I shook my head.
“It’s really not what you think,” Adonis said.
“Isn’t it?!” I snapped.
“I’m so confused,” RJ said. “Mom, you’ve been to my games. You must have seen Adonis.”
“Who I thought was Dimitri!” my mom said. “And I was counting my blessings that none of my children were talking about that little heathen! I could barely watch the games.” She cringed. “I tried to read instead but I felt his perverted little eyes on me.”
Yeah, I was going to be sick.
